Hotel Du Lac

You cannot beat the location of Hotel du Lac! Right in Menaggio's historic center, it sits directly on Lake Como with a lively piazza, cafés, and restaurants right outside. Dedicated guest parking nearby is a huge plus. The highlight is definitely the rooftop pool and sauna—the views over the lake are stunning! While breakfast isn't included, there’s an on-site café, reception also there. Unfortunately, the rooms are very dated. Our top-floor room had a phenomenal lake view, but the room felt overused and the bathroom needed proper cleaning and a deep floor scrub. With updated, cleaner rooms, this is a 5-star property. Location and rooftop pool save it at 4/5 stars.

Stopped in for morning coffee and light breakfast before catching the ferry /. Only one person taking customer orders /. The place was 40% occupied outside - the other 3 staff just looked on ! All of them were miserable / no smiles , no cheery hello - just hard work - even when we went in to pay / the guy on the till felt like he was doing you a big favour - was I really in France not Italy - after 4 weeks in this amazing country this is the eirdt service

We spent a night in this small hotel in the heart of Menaggio. There are only a few rooms, so it is quiet: perfect. The furniture is made of wood in an old style, but honestly, it is nice and it is a change from soulless hotels. The room was very well equipped, with comfortable bedding. We had two windows: one overlooking the lake with a small balcony and one overlooking the square. No parking on site, but there are public parking lots nearby, and if you park in a white space, it is free! For breakfast, we chose to leave the hotel and have it at the Cassera Moreti pastry shop, which is 100 meters from the hotel: it is delicious, there is an incredible selection, and it is really inexpensive.
