Inverigo Hotel

Unfortunately we have been “catfished”. What is shown in the photos does not correspond to reality at all. See also the attached pictures; I have not been able to take a picture of everything. From the outside the hotel looked very nice and well cared for. Once we arrived at the top and at the rooms, we found a lot of cobwebs, insects and fungus. I reported this to the hotel employee behind the desk and asked for another room because of the bugs and the condition of the room. Her reaction was literal: “We have trees opposite us, so it makes sense that you have insects in your room.” When I indicated that I did not think this was a normal or acceptable situation, she reacted very unprofessionally. She started crying, got angry and indicated that it was not her hotel and that she could not help me further. Nor could she or would she put me in contact with a manager. After repeated insistence, she was eventually able to offer another room. Unfortunately, this room turned out to be hardly better. I had to change a total of 3 rooms 1st room: mold on walls and ceiling. Hugely dirty room. 2nd room: whole ceiling full of insects, kind of silver fish have since counted 16. Mosquitoes in the room. Again a lot of mold. 3rd room: again a lot of stench and mold in the bathroom, broken tiles and shards on the ground with dead insects (cockroach?). Spider and cobwebs in the room. Corridor was covered in moths, mold and cobwebs. There is no cleaning. See pictures. As for breakfast: a large gang of mosquitoes. Please avoid this hotel. I literally haven't been able to shower or sleep for 3 nights. I actually wanted to check out but didn't do it because they wouldn't give money back. Should have just left, really.

8 days at this hotel for a vacation on Lake Como. The location is convenient, halfway between Como and Lecco, even if it is not particularly close to the main towns on the lake. The parking lot is large, convenient, and free. The rooms are quite spacious, clean, and quiet, equipped with a good internet connection. The receptionist was very kind and even gave us excellent advice on places to visit. Unfortunately, however, that is where the positive aspects end. The mattress was not particularly comfortable and lacked a mattress cover, being covered only by a sheet. The pillows were average. A negative note was the minibar in the room, which was not working (in July). When we asked for an explanation at the front desk, we were told that it was a management decision, adopted for cost-saving reasons. This "cost-saving" policy was also felt at breakfast: throughout the week, the products always remained the same, with little variety, limited quantities, and rather mediocre quality. For those who prefer a savory breakfast, the selection was truly limited and the quality was not up to the standards of a hotel in this category. The staff, too, with the exception of a couple of people, seemed rather cold and not always welcoming. Overall, it is a hotel that I would only recommend for short stays and without expecting the standards of a true four-star hotel.

On the occasion of the rowing competition, we chose this hotel. Service is always efficient, satisfied with every request. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the reception, the restaurant, and the room cleaning service, all of whom are excellent. Very convenient parking. Only 15/20 km from Como and Lecco. It will be a reference point for traveling in the area.
