Garni Sole

Unfriendly and unpleasant welcome by an Italian matron who should sell her establishment or change professions! Room worthy of the movie Back to the Future from the 80s! Clean but outdated; we had booked a room with a terrace and a view of the lake, the only positive point aside from the dried-up and dead plants on the terrace! Musty smell in the room, burnt-out light bulbs, old bedspread, old furniture, and an old armchair from the Second World War! Too bad because the view of the lake is fabulous; another positive point is that parking is free. But this establishment deserves a complete makeover and good training in customer service.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. 4 of us stopped off there only last night for a meal. We ordered starters and main courses, all came out together. Food just warm, certainly not hot. When we asked for processco, we were told it's a 3 star not a 5 star hotel. Both waiters we dealt with were rude and not helpful. No butter for the bread, butter only served at breakfast time we were told. Absolutely shocking expierence and food so bad.

You need to remember it is only a 3 star hotel. We arrived and went to reception to be greeted by rude lady, when she realised we were English and not German she got someone else to deal with us. The general manager a young man was fantastic, very helpful. The hotel is in a great position opposite the lake. Our room overlooked this so we couldn’t be happier. The rooms are a bit dated and the free internet was useless. Nice continental breakfast with plenty of choice. Didn’t eat at night as all the reviews were poor but the restaurant was always full. If you remember it is only a 3 star hotel, and it’s in a great position with lovely views. It’s a nice place to stop.it is only a short walk to catch various ferries to go around the lake
