Hotel Monte Baldo

We’ve had an absolutely lovely 2 nights in this delightful small hotel & restaurant. It’s a classic Italian Lakes building, tall and yellow-painted with a red-tiled roof, and shutters and geraniums at all the windows. Right on the most beautiful part of the waterfront at Limone sul Garda - a tiny cobbled harbour with cliffs towering up behind. Inside has been v tastefully modernised. Our 5th floor room (via lift) was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and its balcony had a totally glorious view across Lake Garda to a whole row of mountains, including Monte Baldo itself. It was bliss to escape there from the crowded streets and watch the boats go by. The hotel is family-run, the staff uniformly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was first rate, and, though there are dozens of places to eat in Limone, we enjoyed our dinner in the Montebaldo restaurant so much we returned there for our second night. We’re vegetarian: had absolutely delicious bean soup, quinoa salad, the best polenta I’ve ever eaten, great pizza and pasta, and a gorgeous chocolate soufflé. Plus top class negronis as aperitifs, and v good wine. The hotel’s free parking is about half a mile away: there’s a sort of golf buggy that brought us and our luggage to and fro. It’s about 150m from the hotel to the jetty for boats up & down the lake.

Welcoming place with a wonderful lake view, I had excellent pasta with lake ragù on the outdoor terrace, attentive and always present staff. I will definitely return

Attention shit. I was a guest today with my wife in the bar on the ground floor of the Hotel Monte Baldo. We had a pina colada and a sambuca. Taste-wise, both were okay. Unfortunately, there was a problem while creating the invoice. The Sambuca, which according to the map should cost 5 €, was charged at 5.50 € . We moaned that at the waitress's. She said the price was right. The map had not been updated. Well congratulations, so you can do it and rip off the tourists
