Ilma

Stayed in 2024 was amazing staying last week Aug 2026 and not as amazing . New rooms was lovely and very clean but air con was rubbish . We knew about all the stairs from last time but they need to look into more anti slip on the last load of steps upto the terrace as I slipped twice when it had rained . Food was buffet style and as plentiful and nice as I remember from last time but SOME not all staff in the dinning room was a bit rude and I felt like I was back at school been shouted at for sitting at a table they didn't want me at but as there was only 2 of us I didn't want to sit on a family table . Also one morning we had a sleep in and got to breakfast half hour before it was to finish and the staff again was not replenishing plates and looked at us as if we was late and a inconvenience because they would have to make the table again . We understand but all the cleaning and remaking should be done once the dinning room is finished . We normally dont go in school time but it was the only week we could go ...never again as the pool area was spoiled by screaming kids and inflatables and ball games ( which is not allowed at anytime ) but no staff member around the pool area was bothered or even asked if we wanting drinks this year as they had done 2 years ago . It's in the perfect spot and a nice stroll to the town but unfortunately due to the reception staff member who gave my husband a load of abuse because WE didn't know and wasn't told if you want to check out early you need to pay the night before ....my husband told her to check us out or we was leaving to which she did but she didn't need to be so rude about something we wasn't aware of . Every other hotel normally has 24 /7 reception so maybe this needs looking into or more info when checking in . So unfortunately we won't be staying at this hotel every again as 5 lovely things can but ruined by one VERY rude member of staff.

Very nice hotel. We arrived there without a reservation and were helped very quickly and well. The reception staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We got a nice room overlooking the lake and pool. Nice clean room with everything we needed. Delicious breakfast. Extended and nice sitting. In short, highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

We had a really good stay at Hotel Ilma and had a great stay in Limone. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location with a beautiful view of Lake Garda and is just a few minutes' walk from Limone's cosy centre with restaurants, shops and the harbour promenade. The pool area is welcoming, the rooms are neat and clean, and the hotel looks generally well-maintained. The restaurant staff deserves special praise. They are very engaged, attentive and friendly, and they really contribute to a good experience during meals. It is not possible to book à la carte for dinner as the hotel serves only buffet. The buffet has a wide selection with many classic Italian dishes, and the quality is good. However, as with most buffets, the selection started to feel a little uniform after a few days. Therefore, our recommendation would be to book a stay with breakfast and instead explore the many good restaurants in the centre of Limone in the evening. The town is only about 150 metres from the hotel and offers plenty of cosy dining. The staff at the pool bar seems a little less engaged than the rest of the hotel staff, but they are always cute, smiling and pleasant to talk to. The reception was the part of the stay that pulled a little down. We noticed that only one employee spoke good English. The rest tried to help, but often answered in Italian, which made communication a little challenging. In addition, we were welcomed a couple of times with eye rolling from some of the employees, and we don’t think that belongs in a professional service experience. We had booked a suite which was lovely and spacious. However, it is located about 150 meters up the hill in a separate building and not as an integral part of the hotel. It worked fine, but also meant that little things got a little more troublesome. For example, towels were missing for one person upon arrival, and the coffee capsules were not filled up during the stay. These are small details, but when you choose a suite, you expect that sort of thing to be in place. Overall we had a really good holiday. The location of the hotel, the view and the dedicated staff of the restaurant weigh heavily. With a little more focus on the service at the reception and the little details around the suites, the experience would be close to perfect. We will definitely consider coming back.
