Hotel Liberty

Went for my birthday. First of all, for positives, the hotel is very clean and there is good air con. The staff are exceptional, especially the front desk men. They are friendly and helpful and speak perfect English, they helped us a lot to find our way around milan. There were no complaints as to the cleanliness of the rooms. Now negatives. We were kept awake the whole first night with constant banging around us, it wouldn’t stop and was so loud, this kept all of us awake. Perhaps it was a local in the apartments around renovating or doing weird stuff, but it was constant and stopped at 3am, started again at 9. We reported it to reception and it slowed down a bit the next night but still carried on, especially it was the night of my birthday so this was awful for us. On my birthday we woke up to the fire alarm. This went on and off so we didn’t evacuate. However the cleaning staff told us that it was fake, and it went on for over an hour. It was so loud and shrill. We were told that it was a ‘fault’. The last night the banging continued louder than ever, with a flight the next morning this was not ideal. It was in different paces so definitely a human not pipes. Reception told us that no one else had complained. Good location, it’s 18 mins from Santa Sofia metro stop, and 10 minutes from porta romana metro. Directly outside is also tram stop 9, it’s so easy to get around if you get the hang of it. Milan in general is perfect for transport. Overall would not come back, breakfast was disappointing and bleak. However no diss to the reception men who were exceptional. Thank you.

I do not know the cost because I did not pay, but the room is equipped with every possible comfort; first time in Milan, I have never seen so many power outlets in a room. We were in a triple room, spacious bathroom with a large mirror, plus a small one hanging on the wall with a light to facilitate makeup, also a full-length one in the room near the closet. Toothbrushes, combs, razors, shampoo, body wash, slippers, glasses, everything is disposable. Bathrobes. If I really have to find a negative side, unfortunately there was very little space to walk; if I was sitting at the desk, I blocked the passage in front of the double bed. Full minibar. Excellent and well-stocked breakfast, kind and helpful staff. I am giving 4 stars because I only stayed one night and I don't know the costs. Close to the tram and metro stop, which leads to the cathedral, surrounded by restaurants of all kinds, supermarkets, and laundromats. I recommend it

Great option to stay in Milan. Clean room, great beds, efficient air conditioning. Great breakfast, helpful and attentive staff at the reception and in the breakfast space. It is a 10-minute walk from a Venice subway station.
