Hotel La Perla

High on a hill, in a privileged location with spectacular views over Lake Como and the towns of San Giovanni and Bellagio on the other shore, we find this hotel where kindness and service are part of the essence of the establishment. From the moment of arrival, you perceive this way of understanding hospitality that is more traditional and personal. The staff explains the hotel's operation to you calmly, and one of the team members accompanies you to the room to show you all the details, a gesture that is becoming less common and that makes the difference. Our room had a balcony with incredible views over the lake, the kind that invite you to sit for a while and simply contemplate. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and very well maintained, with a large double bed that ensured a good rest. The bathroom, although not especially large, was well laid out, with good lighting and a comfortable shower, sufficient for the use of two people. Another of the hotel's attractions is the pool, perfect for sunbathing or cooling off after a day discovering the towns of the lake. Breakfast, served in a buffet format, can be enjoyed on the terrace with the lake as a backdrop. It does not seek to impress with quantity, but it is very well maintained and offers everything necessary to start the day well. With decor in pastel tones and an air that recalls the grand hotels of the early 20th century, but adapted to modern comforts, La Perla is an example that some classics never go out of style.

Without a vehicle, you are at a disadvantage here. The house has its own underground garage with limited capacity. Parking spaces are available on the property directly at the hotel. Additional parking options below the hotel on the access road. The friendliness of the owner family is sensational, which is to say: it doesn't get any better! The tour of the house including the meticulous explanations in the room as well as the advice on activities in the region, incorporating practical tips and hints, are very commendable. We spent five nights here in a family suite. The view from the room and the associated balcony of the lake and mountains is magnificent. A positive point to mention is the bathroom, which gives a brand-new impression. The breakfast we generally view as very critical throughout Italy. We also have a few things to criticize here, but do not want to appear as notorious complainers. However, for those who, like us, consider themselves breakfast enthusiasts, a kind of period of suffering begins here (complaining at a high level)! The selection on the (evening) bistro menu also takes some getting used to. Orders for hot appetizers must be placed at the reception no later than 5:00 PM. The main courses consist exclusively of various very simple pasta dishes at a flat rate of € 11.00. The quality is rather mediocre. The jarred tomato sauces from Barilla say hello. CONCLUSION: We have absolutely no doubt that we enjoyed our stay exceptionally well, despite the slight limitations described. The magnificent location of the property and these wonderful, lovable hosts are practically a guarantee for relaxing days. Thank you very much for letting us stay here.

We had the most wonderful stay at Hotel La Perla and honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of staff was so warm, welcoming and helpful, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. There’s such a lovely, personal feel to the hotel that made us feel incredibly well looked after throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and the views over Lake Como are absolutely breathtaking – even better than the photos. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, and the same high standard of cleanliness was noticeable throughout the entire hotel. The pool and terrace areas are gorgeous, the setting is so peaceful, and sitting there taking in the views of the lake and mountains was one of the highlights of our trip. The whole hotel has such a relaxed, special atmosphere. What really makes La Perla stand out, though, is the people. The level of care and attention we received made our stay feel genuinely memorable. We were so sad to leave and would absolutely love to return. If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful and welcoming to stay on Lake Como, we couldn’t recommend Hotel La Perla highly enough. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! ❤️
