Hotel Aracoeli

I've never been through anything like this in my life. I travel for work dozens of times a year but there is a limit to everything. This time I won't let it go. I book with Booking a stay for October 11, selecting a specific room in a specific hotel as happens for anyone and I receive ok. I receive confirmation with message and check in instructions. At that juncture I read that I should check in ANOTHER HOTEL different from the one chosen if I park in their private or check in an OFFICE then a third different place. With my wife we do not fully understand everything being quite confusing, so we write a message of clarification to be quiet about the Reservation made in the central square. Reading that it is perhaps a widespread hotel we did not want to find ourselves then staying maybe in a different area. A message is normal since you pay. And here comes a lady who calls me (I thought to give me explanations), I put on speakerphone and I am ATTACKED, screams at me, does not even let me talk and calls me TROUBLEMAKER. Heard from my wife and sister present with me at the time with small children, we are all speechless. I say clearly that it is madness to treat a person like this for no reason and he tells me to cancel and hangs the phone in my face. I will report the incident to Booking.com because certain things must not exist and I hope they can take appropriate measures against this person. Fortunately, in my entire life, it's the first time I've seen something like this. We chose their hotel among all because it was really nice and spatially located, it remains disappointment and discouragement because certain things can not really exist.

I was a bit dubious reading the other reviews. Placed directly in the square with access through the cafe below to the rooms upstairs. Firstly you have to go to their sister hotel Caterina to book in and get the directions to park in the old part of town to drop your bags off and then go back up to park your car on waste land with a gate, which is free. A bit of a faff but manageable. The room was clean enough. Shower was in the middle of the room but it was a great shower. Fridge full of drinks and snacks all free. Couldn’t see the lake really. Location great, BUT the bars below stay open to the wee hours(2 am) and can be noisy. I was woken quite a lot. The breakfast is ok, the staff are nice enough. Overall for the money it was fine. Take a mossie zapper for the room, i got eaten alive!!!

Last night my mother did me the courtesy of contacting the hotel to make the reservation in my name, but as it was late she was told to send a message on WhatsApp and the next day (today) she would be contacted by the secretary who would would have made a quote for the period from 25 to 27 April. This morning, having received no response, she called again and the owner answered again, who told her that since it was a "hot" period, they had to make an offer. Since I need to find accommodation before I can't find a place anywhere else either, I decided to call personally to ask. For the series: "if you don't even provide me with availability, I'll book somewhere else! You just need to know!" Well, I call and the owner answers and I start by referring to the phone call I had earlier with my mother. The very rude owner responds to me by saying: "I don't have the slightest idea who you are!" (this already predicts the person we have in front of us)... I introduce myself and ask for a quote because I need to book and she starts yelling at me without even letting me speak, telling me that I would be called back and not to bother!!!! I then reply that he shouldn't have allowed himself to speak in this way to a customer and not complain that there is a crisis and that there are no tourists if this is the treatment that is given. The discussion ends with you throwing the phone in my face. I was shocked by the phone call and tried to call her back, she answered and shouted: "psychopaths like you are not welcome and we don't welcome them!!!" And throw down the phone. I don't even comment on the owner's behavior which is truly shameful and rude. I sincerely hope to receive at least an apology for having suffered such mean and revolting treatment!
