Eurhotel Volpiano

I don't know where to start. From the non English speaking receptionist (despite advertising English speaking staff ) who looked at me as though I came from Mars when I asked for the wifi key. The wifi did not work, it was impossible to connect. Luckily we managed to connect via a neighboring site which was free. The waiter spoke reasonable English, and presented us with a tatty photocopied 1 sheet menu, with no prices, basically pasta to start, choice of 3 meats with salad. Well I say salad, it was a bowl of mixed leaves from a packet, and nothing else. My partner requested ice cream for dessert. They dont do ice cream. When did you know an Italian restaurant which didn't keep ice cream? Next, the air conditioner, was very noisy and woefully inadequate for August temperatures. So we boiled, and had no sleep until it was cool enough to open the window. Tripadvisor site describes it as a beachside location -huh? In Turin? Also one site said it had indoor parking - again, sadly no. Only outside the hotel front. All in all, a visit to remember, fof all the wrong reasons.

After driving from Geneva, we found this hotel (via our GPS) and it proved to be exactly what we wanted. Yes...it is in an industrial estate area, but for us it was conveniently placed for our driving and we did not want to explore any further after arriving. Our room was large and clean, the bed very comfortable with spare extra pillows. The ensuite was presented very clean. The room was very quiet. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable tarrif, we also had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent value (including wine, aperitif !!). The staff were very friendly, especially to us who could only speak English! Recommended as good value for money for someone with a car travelling through.

Convenient if you are working in the industrial area. There's nothing around and nowhere to go. A car is a must. Ok to sleep, very cheap, don't expect any luxuries. My first night the elevator would not go to lobby floor so I had to use the stairs to get down. Corrected later
