Residenza Gardenia

Fantastic stay at the Residenza Gardenia in Alghero. The absolute strong point is the location: it is located just a few meters from the beautiful Lido beach and the area is super well-served. In the same complex there is a well-stocked supermarket, excellent restaurants, bars, and one of the best ice cream parlors in the city. The apartments are spacious, clean, and equipped with everything necessary for a vacation in total autonomy. A special mention also goes to the condominium pool, clean and perfect for a relaxing swim at the end of the day. Excellent value for money, we will definitely be back!

We wanted room towards the courtyard, as we had previously stayed at the same apartment hotel and got room out to the street with strong disruptive traffic, glass emptying early mornings and transport of goods to the store Nonna Isa under the hotel. We thought, that we as returning guests would have our request heeded.TUI gave us a room out to the street just above the store garbage station and warnings!!(see picture) Their so-called 2-room apartments are not for 4 people, then the sofa bed that stands in the kitchen is not a bed to sleep in.Should you unfold it, you need to remove the kitchen table and chairs. No cleaning for a whole week and clean towels once during the stay. The equipment in the kitchenette is not for 4 people and you can not cook because there are no articles. The doors to all the hotel rooms slam and it is extremely responsive. The only good thing about Gardenia was the shop Nonna Isa.

Large, clean, functioning 4th floor 2 bedroomed apartment including A/C. Balconies were a little dirty. However, a clean pool and outdoor facilities (shower and toilets close to pool). Reception staff really helpful. A large well stocked supermarket at reception entrance. Within easy walking distance to the sea, I'd recommend Rafel's as good base for coffee, loungers and food. Lots of lovely friendly bars - one bar showing GAA games - best staff their too. Cafes, restaurants and gelato parlours galore in the area. A 25 minute walk to the very beautiful Alghero Old town with fabulous shops, restaurants, our best by far Mabrouk.
