Villa Barbarina Nature Resort

Great place a stone's throw from beautiful Alghero. Strategic location of the resort between the beautiful beaches and the delightful village, very close to the airport. Low-rise construction spread out in the middle of an olive grove with a relaxing, constantly watered lawn and a swimming pool. Efficient management. Well-maintained rooms. Very efficient and high-quality restaurant. Good prices in relation to very high quality. Car essential.

I had a great time, beautiful restaurant, the waitress Maria Grazia was super and very kind.

I stayed at Villa Barbarina for four nights and, unfortunately, the experience was a mix of ups and downs. Let's start with the positive aspects: the property is aesthetically very beautiful. The open spaces are very well-kept, with a large lawn, beautiful olive trees, and paths that make walks within the property truly pleasant. The pool, too, although small compared to the size of the complex, is a pleasant area. However, I was disappointed by several aspects that, for a property that presents itself as 4.5 stars, should not go unnoticed: * **Staff and welcome:** With the exception of Giada, who proved to be professional and welcoming, I found the rest of the reception staff unfriendly and aloof, a factor that does not help one feel at ease. Confirming this, at the time of departure, since there was no room dedicated to luggage storage, we had to leave suitcases and backpacks on an armchair next to the reception. Instead of receiving assistance, we had to endure complaints from the staff about the amount of luggage, when the inconvenience arose precisely from the lack of an essential service that a property of this level should guarantee. Furthermore, unfortunately, there is no courtesy room, which is often easy to find in seaside hotels. In our case, having an evening flight, we could not take a shower before going to the airport, except in the pool. A further inconvenience is represented by the lack of a telephone in the room to communicate with the reception; if we needed something, we were forced to go in person, which was inconvenient. * **Pool area:** Maintenance is lacking. The umbrellas are largely broken and the lounge chairs are old and uncomfortable. The outdoor shower head is also completely encrusted, making it almost impossible to rinse off. * **Rooms:** The \"cottage\" style accommodations are cute, but lack essential functionality. In the bathroom there are no towel hooks, there is no glass for toothbrushes, and no intimate cleanser or shampoo is provided inside the shower. The complimentary toiletries are practically non-existent (just a few shower caps left randomly on the sink). Furthermore, the shower head shows signs of wear from limescale that create discomfort during use. * **Cleanliness:** It is the aspect that requires the most attention. Surface cleaning is lacking: there was a lot of dust under the bed and, in general, the bathrooms are tidied up as best as possible without any real deep sanitization. It is a real shame, because with a targeted investment in maintenance and a little more attention to detail and guest care, Villa Barbarina could be an exceptional place. As it stands, however, the price-quality ratio does not reflect the declared category. Good breakfast.
