Beautiful design, incredibly warm people, and truly dog-friendly
We paid 613 euros including breakfast for four nights. For our dog, an additional 10 euros per night was added, so another 40 euros. Overall, we found the price-performance ratio for Stintino in September to be okay. However, for individual points, we would have expected a bit more for this price.
Our two biggest highlights were clearly the special design and the people who work here.
From the outside, we would not have expected at all how specially the hotel is designed inside and in the outdoor areas. Whoever planned and furnished it really put some thought into it. Warm pink and terracotta tones, pink cabinet doors and door frames, turquoise windows, round shapes, arches, small tiles, ceramics, and niches create a beautiful organic Mediterranean style. It feels individual and not at all like just any hotel.
The rooms are spacious and pleasantly large, bright, and also have an interesting layout. A little more storage space for suitcases would have been practical. Our room faced the inner courtyard and therefore had no special view. Since we spent little time in the room anyway, that did not bother us.
You should definitely take a look at the terraces, the garden, and especially the upper area with a view. Plants grow everywhere, everything is lushly landscaped and fits wonderfully with the architecture. Someone here definitely has a green thumb, too.
The people will remain in our memories just as positively. The ladies at breakfast in particular were incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive every morning. We were also always treated very kindly at the reception. For the people here, we would actually give 10 out of 5 points.
A huge plus point is also the pet-friendliness. Our dog was not just allowed, but truly welcome. He was allowed to come to breakfast with us, and we never had the feeling that a dog was bothering anyone anywhere. Cats also live around the hotel, and the interaction with the animals was very relaxed and warm.
We found the garden hose outside, which we were allowed to use to rinse off our dog after the beach, to be especially practical. The charge for the dog is 10 euros per night. Which specific additional service is included in this was not entirely clear to us. Nevertheless, the uncomplicated and warm pet-friendliness is clearly one of the big plus points for us.
There is also a shuttle, which we did not use ourselves. However, we found it positive that we would have even been allowed to use it with a dog. We were merely told that the dog should not be completely dirty for it, which we found absolutely understandable.
Overall, the breakfast was okay for us, but rather mid-range compared to other hotels. It was not bad, but it did not particularly convince us in terms of quality. We like fresh bread or rolls in the morning and as few processed products as possible, and we also know that we are a bit more demanding when it comes to breakfast.
Especially with a smaller buffet, we believe that slightly higher-quality individual products would make a big difference.
The fruit was also partially not optimally ripe. Our kiwis were very hard and sour. Some of the cold cuts were also not quite to our taste. In our view, the selection does not even need to be larger. A little more quality in the individual products would already make a significant difference.
The coffee itself was very good! However, the coffee machine is clearly too slow for the number of guests, so a line almost always forms in the morning. A second machine would really make sense here.
It is very important to us that: This criticism is expressly not directed at the breakfast team. The ladies were great. Our impression was rather that they worked with what was available to them. It was definitely not due to their efforts.
Regarding cleanliness, our impression was average. At first glance, everything is tidy and we did not feel disgusted or uncomfortable at all. Upon closer inspection, however, there were heavily soiled light switches, individual hairs in the bed, and a rather sandy balcony. Of the three hotels we stayed at on this trip, this was clearly the weakest for us in terms of cleanliness.
Furthermore, our shower drain was already clogged upon arrival. We reported it, but unfortunately the problem persisted until our departure. Such details and minor maintenance issues in particular could be checked and resolved more consistently.
The hotel is also very noisy. We had the distinct impression that a lot can be heard through the room doors. These doors are also one of the few elements that, to us, do not visually fit the otherwise beautiful concept. Better soundproofed doors would probably make a big difference and could perhaps even be designed to match the rest of the color scheme.
The Wi-Fi, on the other hand, was very positive. For us, it was fast, stable, and had a very good range. We had absolutely no problems with that.
The free parking lot right at the hotel is also very convenient. Towards evening, however, the spaces can become scarce. Those who return a bit earlier will probably have it easier. Later on, parking is sometimes quite creative.
It is also important to know that no dinner is offered at the hotel itself. Anyone who wants to eat in the evening must therefore go out again. You can get coffee at the hotel.
Another tip for travelers with a dog
Stintino is scenically beautiful, and you should certainly see some of the well-known beaches at least once. For a longer beach vacation with a dog that really likes to go into the water, however, we found the region less than ideal.
You should inform yourself thoroughly beforehand. Dog allowed on the beach does not automatically mean that the dog is also allowed in the sea. At one beach in the area near the castle and the offshore island, for example, our dog was allowed on the beach, but not in the water. With a water-loving dog, that is of course difficult.
We found Fiume Santo to be a really nice and uncomplicated place for dogs to swim. Punta d'Elice is significantly wilder and more natural. The drive there takes a relatively long time, however, since you have to drive quite far back.
We also found the shopping options around Stintino to be rather limited. Right in the area, there are mainly smaller shops. For a really large supermarket or a larger shopping center, you should plan on about 30 to 40 minutes of driving, in our experience.
Anyone who spontaneously wants a larger selection of fresh bread, rolls, cold cuts, or other groceries will find it a bit less convenient as a result. Perhaps we did not discover every possibility, but our impression was clear that you need a car and some time for larger shopping trips.
With a dog, that was additionally relevant for us. In larger supermarkets, we were sometimes even allowed to bring our dog along despite signs to the contrary after a quick inquiry, for example in the shopping cart or in another permitted way. In smaller shops, that was significantly more difficult or sometimes not possible at all.
Some of the well-known beaches in the region are also quite expensive. We thought it was great to have been there once. For a longer stay, however, the area convinced us less overall. We therefore found three to four days in Stintino with a dog to be quite ideal. After that, you know the few truly suitable dog-friendly swimming spots and otherwise quickly end up going to the same places over and over again.
Our conclusion: The hotel is not perfect, but it is pleasant. There is clear room for improvement regarding cleanliness, breakfast quality, coffee situation, minor maintenance details, and soundproofing. At the same time, you get a truly special hotel with beautiful Mediterranean design, great outdoor areas, spacious bright rooms, very good Wi-Fi, free parking, exceptional pet-friendliness, and above all, incredibly warm people. It is precisely the team and the design of the hotel that will remain in our memories in a particularly positive way.
And in case someone from the hotel is reading this: What is the name of this beautiful pink shade on the cabinet doors and door frames, please? We fell a little bit in love with this color and would love to use it at home. 😍
And an official dog washing station would be really cool and probably easy to implement 💡 🐩🪸🫶🏼.

It’s a budget hotel (though it’s not a budget price during the high season). Finding quality hotels in Sardinia with value for money is definitely challenging so keep that in mind.
Pros:
- Close to Stintino and la Pelosa beach
- Free outdoor parking
- Sea view rooms
Cons:
- Old Building so expect pbs with room sound proofing, aged rooms especially the bathroom, « old house » smell
- Breakfast is average
For a short stay to experience la Pelosa beach it’s ok but not longer.

Totally recommended for families. Busy hotel (July-Aug), but will only notice the busy at breakfast. Pool is reasonably occupied as half of the guests head off to beaches. Free shuttle provided by hotel to La Pelosa beach is a blessing from parking chaos, but that is if you have a booking to the beach which is already fully booked months ahead!
Friendly staff, Lush brakfast options. Walkable distance to beatuiful city of Stintino and grocery shopping super-market.
