Santa Maria Resort

As 6 couples, we stayed from August 18 to 22; we arrived before 3:00 PM and the rooms were assigned to us in two batches; we and two other couples had to wait until 4:00 PM. As soon as we entered, given the heat of those days, we noticed that the air conditioning was not working; we turned it on with the remote control, and after a few minutes, it stopped working. To make a long story short, after several attempts we realized that it only worked for 10 minutes and then it would lock up. After calling the front desk, we were instructed on several tests to perform that were of no use; around 6:30 PM two maintenance workers arrived who, staying at the door, told us that it already had problems but stayed on for longer before locking up. I started to complain and was told that they would do what they could; in the meantime, I asked for a fan, which was given to me. We spent a hellish night; among other things, we had arrived from a motorcycle trip, and the next morning I found the receptionist from the day shift. In the meantime, my husband, using the Internet, discovered that the error causing it to lock up requires replacing the motor. At that point, angry, I asked for it to be repaired immediately or for me to be given a room with air conditioning by 12:00 PM; she replied that she would do what she could, that they were waiting for a technician, and that there were no rooms available. At noon, when I returned, I found the receptionist ready with the keys to another room in her hand; she said that the air conditioner needed to be replaced. Since we were on a motorcycle, it was not an easy move, and we practically had to spend the afternoon of the 19th at the resort. I would have even understood the unforeseen event if it weren't for the fact that at breakfast I found another couple with the same problem, and worse yet, after 2 days our old room, 247, was assigned to a couple, and naturally the air conditioning continued to be broken, so much so that they spent the night with the door open. Practically, it was not an unforeseen event, but people were taking turns spending the nights in rooms with non-functioning air conditioning. I find it shameful that such a beautiful resort, which charges over €470.00 for 4 nights because it is a 4-star hotel, has such poor management and ruins vacations for more than one person by pretending there is a sudden breakdown when the breakdown is permanent.

I stayed for 2 nights. Upon checking in, everything was fine. The room is tiny, but it's fine anyway. The bathroom screen was completely broken, but it's fine anyway. We return after dinner, the air conditioning no longer works! A night from HELL! The next day, not a word of apology. We ask at least to refund us for the breakfast of the second day (we cannot consume it since we have to leave early), nothing doing! We had to wait until 8 in the morning. The lady impatiently gave us back 20 euros instead of the 26 we paid. She kept 6 €, no one knows why... You understood correctly. Breakfast costs € 13 per person! And I assure you it is terrible. A shame! The hotel is beautiful, in a stunning location, but very poorly managed. The quality of the breakfast is terrible!

We had a great time, we stayed for 1 Week. The staff are all very nice and go above and beyond to help you with any questions or problems. The rooms were clean and had working AC so it never got too hot. The pool area is nicely kept, very clean. Beaches and the city of Orosei can be reached by foot, but its best to rent a car because there is a lot of beauty in the Gulf of Orosei further south if you go exploring. Parking is no problem since there is a lot of space. Privacy is also decent since you have a hut for yourself. All in all i can recommend staying at Santa Maria for everybody who wants to experience Sardinia's beauty for themselves.
