TERRIBLE experience
On Booking I have many reservations because I travel a lot and, when I have a good time, I get attached to places and I always hope to be able to return. That is absolutely not the case here.
Obviously, everything I am about to tell is demonstrable and this is not the classic review made with the intent of belittling a property.
I booked 2 nights at this hotel, for a total of 284 euros. The property is located in the center, in a very nice location.
As soon as we entered, honestly, we didn't expect any great welcome, but at least a minimum of professionalism, yes.
Not at all. And right from there I started to understand everything.
I pay immediately, as requested by them, and we are given the keys without even being accompanied to the room.
The property is dated. But so dated that, as soon as I entered the room, there was practically everything that reminded me of my grandmother's house. (She lived in the country and my grandmother was born in 1922.)
On Booking the room is shown with a large window, at eye level, typical Sardinian decor with soft colors, very bright; a room not large, but right, indicated as 17 sqm.
Cast iron Eja.
In person, they give us a burial niche. Still to remind me of my grandmother, it must have been about 11 sqm.
A nightstand was even positioned vertically, precisely because it didn't fit horizontally. It was not possible for two people to pass in front of the bed. The window was high and small, very little light came in, and a strong smell of sewage came from the bathroom.
But these, if one wants, are aspects that can also be overlooked.
Night arrives.
The air conditioning was not working.
But, as luck would have it, there was a fan inside the room. And this makes me think that the problem was already known.
I slept practically nothing that night. An absurd heat.
I use the fan and the next morning I got up with a red eye, a stiff neck, and completely sore, because it was not possible to be without the fan, but not even turn it on comfortably, since it was too close to the bed precisely because of the small size of the room.
In the morning I get up, notify the breakfast lady of the problem, take my things, and go down around 10.
At the reception is the owner, who had already been notified.
I explain the situation and clearly say that I want to leave.
She starts the conversation by telling me:
“I have changed your room.”
I ask her if the air conditioning system was the same and she answers me:
“Yes.”
At that point I say to her:
“So you are not solving the problem, you are simply moving me to another room and that’s it.”
The lady was looking for the right words to tell me that she would not provide a refund. I stop her immediately and reassure her, telling her that I wanted to leave even though I had paid, because my health is worth more than money.
Had she found another person, in all likelihood she would have refunded the entire amount.
But she found me.
I often give to charity, so, in this case, she got lucky.
I have a business myself and I have never let a dissatisfied person leave, especially in a case like this, where it is not a customer problem, but a facility problem.
Money makes you understand who you are dealing with.
I hope that the lady does not deny anything of what I am recounting and does not have the courage to argue back, because I remind her that she took 284 euros, plus the dinner.
And there would be something to say about the dinner as well.
The pizza was raw and those at the table next to us can also confirm it. The little girl was about to throw up, so much so that the pizza was remade and brought personally by the owner herself.
The octopus and mashed potatoes, on the other hand, were excellent.
So, to be fair, I acknowledge that the food is good and the waiters are kind.
The rest?
A disgrace.
And precisely for this reason I have little desire to hear that everything I have written is not true.
