Fiore di Maggio

Hotel located right next to the beautiful beach of Campolongu, reachable on foot in an instant. The exteriors are pleasant and fairly well-kept; there is a functional pool where the children had a lot of fun. We had dinner a few times at the restaurant and we ate well with fairly accessible prices (though wait times were always quite long). This is what I enjoyed about my stay here. The room, on the other hand, I did not find welcoming: dated furnishings and details that were truly poorly maintained as well as worn out. Personally, I did not like the heavy curtains, decorative pillows, and bedspread. Towel change every 3 days, perhaps too long considering that with the heat and sand you wash often. Breakfast with little variety in a bare room that is also used as a staff office. Lack of style: use of paper placemats, disposable cutlery and plates. There is a bar by the pool but it always remained closed, just like all the umbrellas in the courtyard that were never opened; in general, one felt a sense of abandonment. Along the same lines in the evening, no bar, no entertainment, you are forced to go out or go to sleep; for this reason, it is necessary to have a car to get around, rental service not offered by the hotel. Umbrellas and sun loungers not included in the price of the stay. Beach towels for a fee. Very bad in my opinion the lack of possibility for a late check-out, nor the availability of a courtesy room or a changing room for guests who have a late evening return. Part of the staff seems listless and not always kind and helpful... In conclusion, we liked the Villasimius area a lot, but I don't think I would want to return to this property. A very positive note, the boat trip on the Fiori di Maggio motor vessel belonging to the hotel's family, an absolute must-do.

Having spent the day at the adjacent beach, we only tried the restaurant for lunch. Prices appropriate for the dishes offered. Kind staff. Simple dishes, but everything was good.

Decidedly disappointing experience, especially considering the price of €363.00 per night. The room, upon our arrival, was not in the condition one would expect from a property of this level: it was dirty, the air conditioner filter was completely black and the faucets had obvious limescale buildup. The bath towels are also of terrible quality: very thin terry cloth, some even with holes. Furthermore, the towels are not changed daily, but only every 3 days, unless you pay a supplement of €7 for each set. Considering the price of the room, I find this policy truly absurd. The organization for the beach service is also terrible: it seems evident that there is no communication between the reception and the staff, with information that is not shared and situations handled in a confusing manner. And to think that it would be enough to simply communicate with each other! The welcome at the reception was anything but warm: the guy present proved to be unhelpful and unwelcoming. A positive note, however, must be made for the lifeguard and the gentleman at breakfast who were practically the only kind and helpful people. For €363.00 per night, I would have expected a completely different level of cleanliness, quality, organization, and customer care. Absolutely unsatisfactory price-quality ratio.
