Hotel Soleado

We stayed one night to celebrate my daughter's birthday! We had a great time, clean and spacious room with a pool view! Good breakfast and kindness of the staff!

Forget the offical star rating for this hotel! What makes this hotel shine are the family that runs it. Due to Etna making mischeif we were re-routed to Trapani airport and so significantly delayed in arriving at Catania. We relayed this en-route to the hotel as we knew they had a 9pm check in cut off. They told us not to worry and they would be waiting for us when we arrived. By the time we had collected our hire car and driven to the hotel it was nearer 10pm. When we arrived the whole family came out to welcome us. They helped us check our hire car over as we hadn't had chance at the airport, then took it to be parked. They got us checked in and into our rooms quickly as we were exhausted after 15 hours of travelling. Next morning they were there to welcome us with a smile for breakfast and explain everything we had missed from the night before. Such a freindly and helpful family/staff it would be harder to find. Now, the hotel itself. It's basic, yes, but our room for four was spotless, comfortable and had a huge wrap around balcony with a sea veiw. Aircon was good and a mini fridge and safe where very useful. The pool is small but perfect for a dip to cool off and sun loungers where always available, evern in the middle of August. Breakfast is a simple buffet style but with homemade pastries and cakes made daily by the family. Location is excellent, a short walk into the heart of Toarmina and the cable car. A small supermarket just down the street for essentials is welcome. The drive upto the hotel is a bit nerve wracking first time around, especially in the dark. I recommend using the hotel parking service to save the worry of trying to find a parking space. This is a great value hotel in a superb location with the best staff who we will always be grateful too.

My wife and I just spent a week at Hotel Soleado and had the best time. It's one of the friendliest, cleanest, most relaxed hotels we've stayed in, and the family who run the place are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We really didn't want to leave! It's a two-star hotel so there's nothing fancy and the rooms are fairly basic, but we had everything we needed, including a fridge, a safe, good air-conditioning and a powerful shower. There's also a really nice, quiet pool that we were always able to get sunbeds next to whenever we wanted to. We also enjoyed having drinks from the bar and sitting outside with them in the evenings. I especially loved the continental breakfast, which was packed with pastries, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, bread, meat, cheese, cereal and (my personal favourites) small bites of bruschetta which were just delicious. The coffee from the self-service machine was really nice too. The walk into town is less than 10 minutes from the hotel, which was ideal for us as it's an easy trip to the shops and restuarants but you're far enough away from the busy streets to feel relaxed. In some places the road has no pavement which took a little getting used to with cars and bikes going back and forward, but by the end of our trip it felt completely normal. It's a little uphill from town, but not too steep. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely visit again! Thank you so much to all the staff who ensured we had a brilliant time.
