Hotel Teocrito

Wonderful hotel in the center of Syracuse, perfect welcome, a shout-out to Mrs. Lucia, very clean room, as well as the bathroom with all the amenities, perfect and abundant breakfast, both sweet and savory. Everything perfect

I stayed with my wife at the Teocrito hotel for 5 nights, for a performance at the Greek theater, just a few hundred meters away. I booked directly and not through booking or other agencies, a room about three months before the expected arrival date, as I had a lot of luggage and mobility difficulties. I was promised a room near the entrance door of a higher category, more spacious, with a small balcony and a panoramic view of the archaeological museum. I called the reception a few days before the expected arrival, and I was confirmed the room that was promised to me at that time. Upon arrival, a bitter surprise, I was assigned, contrary to expectations, a room at the end of a very long corridor, small, cramped, with a view of an internal courtyard at eye level from the window (almost always kept closed for obvious reasons). When I asked why I was not assigned the promised room, the receptionist replied that the person with whom I booked, whose name I will not mention, does not exist, never heard of, while another person informed me that they no longer work at the hotel. Tired from the journey and the intense heat, we had to adapt against our will. In summary, if you are not in a position to keep promises, do not mislead potential customers. It is true that, having to stay another day in Syracuse due to unforeseen commitments, I requested, albeit with disappointment, an additional night. A request that was obviously denied to me because, according to the booking agent, there were no available rooms. Fortunately, a spot was found in a lovely B&B in the same building as the hotel where we stayed for another three days. I regret having to report this inconvenience, but this, like others, are signs, precise details that, unfortunately, make a difference. The rest was all normal, without particular merits or demerits. There are many hotels in Syracuse of the same category that are far better.

Comfortable environment, excellent service, very courteous staff, good breakfast, and above all, excellent cleanliness. The location near the Greek Theater is also strategic.
