Hotel Villaggio Stromboli

What a disappointment! A quadruple room booked, but we end up with a triple room to which they added a cot! No room to put the suitcases.. these are not the photos that appear on the site! The room is austere and dilapidated (tiny bathroom in poor condition). Breakfast is reduced to the minimum. The staff is unfortunately unfriendly; you get the impression you are bothering them. Aside from a printed map of the island and informing us that the pool costs extra: €10/half day/person with a swim cap to buy at the hotel; no information provided by the staff, even about the restaurant located next to the hotel! The pool is therefore more expensive than a private beach for the day!! What a shame! The common areas are magnificent and the location is ideal for having a breathtaking hotel!

Pleasant location a bit off-center, 15 minutes on foot from the center. Quiet, very beautiful garden. Nice pool but at an extra cost... Beautiful room, decent breakfast.

Frankly, I do not understand the tenor of some negative reviews read here. This is certainly not a boutique hotel or a 5-star hotel, nor does it pretend to be, but I found this place enchanting and filled with an atmosphere of suspended and slow time that fits well with that of the island. The structure presents itself as a distributed hotel, in a strategic position: a short distance from the town center and the most renowned beaches on the eastern side of Stromboli, while enjoying the tranquility of a slightly secluded area. In addition to the rooms of the main building, which houses the reception and breakfast room, there are several independent studios, each with a private bathroom and a small courtyard at the entrance covered by a pergola, located along a flowered path that branches off just above the main entrance of the hotel. The furnishings of the rooms are essential but functional, and we did not notice any lack in terms of cleanliness: cleaning was done every day, including a change of linens. The bathroom is small and potentially in need of renovation in some aspects, but overall it is functional and well-maintained. The strong point of the hotel is undoubtedly the infinity pool overlooking the sea: being on an elevated terrace jutting out over the coast, it gives the feeling of being just steps from the water, with an unparalleled view of Strombolicchio in the background. The Italian breakfast is not particularly abundant, but it is of good quality. The staff is kind, helpful, friendly, and always ready to meet our every request. A place that has won our hearts
