Villa Astoria

Just back from a lovely stay at Villa Astoria. As previous reviews have said, all the staff are exceptional, very friendly, always happy to help with suggestions for restaurants, etc, even met Lucy the dog who loves to sit in the doorway !! The location is excellent, opposite the bus station ,a 5 minute walk to the cable car to the beach area and just a 10 minute walk to the busy , popular Casa Umberto. The rooms are clean and basic but have what you need, we had a room with a balcony with an exceptional view. The balcony only has room for 2 chairs, but we got a coffee and drink from the bar at reception and happily sat admiring the view. We had breakfast which again had everything you needed , a small cooked selection and cold meat, cheese and a selection of pastries and could sit inside with a view or at tables at the hotel entrance (with Lucy) . My only negative, and nothing hotel could do, there was some building work with a pneumatic, piling drill, which was very intrusive during the daytime, making it impossible to use the balcony during these times. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Villa Astoria if you want a small friendly family run hotel with a good location.

My family and I visted Taormina yesterday. Parking near the center of town appeared to be a problem -- until we spotted Astoria Parking. Although we were not guests at the Villa Astoria, we were able to use the reasonably priced Parking service. Mauro and Giuseppe treated us with the utmost in friendly professionalism. We simply gave them the keys to our rented car and enjoyed the town for the next five hours. Not a dent or a scratch when we returned. The service provided by Astoria Parking was impeccable.

Great stay! Breakfast was good convenient location across from the bus station. Room was very nice and the people at the front desk were very helpful! Highly recommend
