Nice welcome From Andreas and his mother. Big house in residential and quiet area not to far from the Aetna. 2 big nice dogs are welcoming you but no problems with children's. What's nice breakfasts outside under threes ! We recommend even if it's a little bit far from town center. Gracie per touti !

In May 2013, we visited Sicily for the first time, but definitely not for the last time! We stayed four days at Villa Caterina, the beautiful home of Signora Caruso and her son Andrea, located in a quiet U-shaped street. Although belonging to Nicolosi, the B&B is located somewhere between Nicolosi and Pedara -- rather at the northern outskirts of both municipalities. Although you might feel like in the middle of nowhere when driving there at first, keep going and follow the signs to the B&B until you reach the property's gate. When ringing the bell, don't be afraid if you are greeted by two dogs at the entrance - they are accompanied by either Signora Caruso or her son and they are peaceful and kind as soon as they recognize you as guests. After welcoming us to the house, the landlady showed us our room on the first floor: When she opened the shutters, we were stunned about the spacious bedroom with its huge bed, its antique but spotless furniture and its large balcony to the garden, and an en-suite bathroom with a window facing the opposite side of the house. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Even though the bed was so high that we could not reach the floor with our feet when sitting on it, it was comfortable. We slept very well, as it was equipped with a good mattress, clean linen and a wollen blanket (at this time of the year, it was still rather cool inside the house, despite the sunshine outside). From the house, you have a great view towards the Etna -- we will miss this view we enjoyed every morning! On our arrival, Signora Caruso asked us which type of breakfast we preferred and we chose the typical Sicilian one, which is sweet: It consisted of a flask of (strong, but good) coffee, a flask of hot milk, bread, butter, honey, and marmelade, seasonal fruits, and various cake varieties and biskuits, many of them home-made. Unfortunately, our Italian language skills are rather limited, but we enjoyed our short conversations with Signora Caruso, who managed to teach us some more words! We will always remember our stay at Villa Caterina. Mille grazie and best wishes to mamma Giusi, Andrea, Sissi, and Vittorio!

We visited Villacaterina in October when we had only just arrived in Sicily, were hopeless at communicating and were trying to find our feet! Andreas and his mother did everything they could to make us feel at home and help us to plan our trips. Our room was very comfortable and clean with en suite bathroom and a balcony looking out over the garden, Breakfast was good. We all tried hard to understand each other leading to some misunderstandings and much laughter! There are several interesting walks and a botanical garden so don't just visit Etna stay a bit longer!
