Grand Hotel La Batia

Not up to it... On the site we were promised so many beautiful things, spacious bright rooms... tranquility quiet, high-end services... in short a 4 star... Promises commit only those who want to believe, starting with those who make them... the reality was much less beautiful... from two bright and clear rooms we went to two alcoves on a slope, with as only window a small opening ridiculously small (and very high, so no view... tiptoe...) and a ridiculous sigh in the bathroom, in which we had a rather unpleasant urine smell during our stay. Where are the pictures of these rooms on the website? Oups..... Then the room services....... do not take too much shower, the shower gel (body and hair) making 30ml... you will have to save... when in the shower small enough it will tend to soak the floor a little too easily. The floor will be barely cleaned during the entire stay (8 days) as proof, a handkerchief present next to the bedside table on our arrival... always there our Check-out. Important thing: no laundry service... 4 stars? Really? I didn't think I'd waste half a day going to a laundromat... Peace of mind? Um, yeah. If we forget that night, or obviously the new property owner had wanted to invite his friends to a party... result: music that shakes the walls until 1am... after having to ask the reception to stop at 11pm....then midnight... We were not entitled to any apology, compensation or anything. Just sympathetic and sorry looks from all the staff who should have received complaints from a good dozen rooms. Did you say pool? Ok... cool, and in the shade at the end of the day... at 5 pm we did not enjoy, the Pension is on the heights and despite the summer temperatures the wind very present deters any pleasure of lazing... Let’s not talk about Spa, saunas, massage... they don’t exist, as do the Extra Awards which are obviously not displayed. On this list I would just return to the quality of the breakfast, fresh and varied, the kindness and considerateness of the employees (special mention to Grace thank you for everything again...) and the Pension location. Otherwise... I think there are structures much more in line with the Award and the advertised level, probably hotels where the pleasure of receiving tourists is real, and especially where it is not just about business.

All good, a holiday of peace and tranquility immersed in the works of the artist S. Artale and among welcoming staff, kind waiters and owners. An enchanting place, comfortable rooms, antique wooden furniture that makes you feel like you are in an ancient castle, beautiful lampshades carved in gilded wood, mosaics on the walls, refectory with holy water stoup since the room was previously the refectory of a nunnery. Good mattresses, hot water at the right level.
