Sporting Residence Club

I highly recommend the Sporting Club. The hotel staff was amazing! The pool and private beach was great too. No crowds, quiet and relaxing. Very clean. The parking lot is before the entrance of the hotel so you're better off parking first and bringing luggage to the door yourself or you'll have to take an 8 min ride around the mountain to get back to the parking lot....that was the only pain. Other than that we had a great stay. And again the staff was amazing, friendly and professional...highly recommend!!

I stayed at Hotel Sporting Club with my family and, despite the lovely setting, I was extremely disappointed with both the standard of the hotel and, most of all, the attitude of the management. For the amount of money this hotel charges, it is simply not worth it. The hotel feels tired and dated in places and the overall standard did not reflect the price we paid. I was also surprised to see dogs in the breakfast area while guests were eating, which I personally did not find appropriate. Unfortunately, the biggest problem was the management. During our stay there was a serious concern about a replacement fridge supplied and plugged in by the hotel. The electrical cable was visibly damaged with internal wiring exposed, and the appliance was in a room where my five-year-old granddaughter was staying. What followed was completely unnecessary and extremely unpleasant. Earlier, my daughter and son-in-law had asked reception to speak to the manager and were told that he was in Palermo and could not be told when he would return. Later, completely by chance, I asked the director’s daughter who a particular man was. She told me that he was the director. It was only then that we realised the director was actually at the hotel, despite my daughter and son-in-law having previously been told otherwise by reception. I found this completely unacceptable. What I subsequently witnessed of the way the situation was handled left an extremely bad impression on me. In my personal experience, the director and his daughter behaved like bullies. Their manner was defensive, confrontational and intimidating when what was needed was professionalism, empathy and a willingness to listen. A family had raised a genuine concern involving a five-year-old child. Instead of trying to calm the situation and properly address that concern, the atmosphere became increasingly hostile. Hotels have problems. Fridges break. Mistakes happen. But there is absolutely no excuse for treating paying guests in this manner when they complain. For the prices being charged, I expected far better accommodation, far better service and considerably better management. The location and views may be attractive, but they do not compensate for an overpriced hotel and an experience that left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. For me, the attitude of the director and his daughter overshadowed the entire stay. I would not return. I do not believe this hotel is remotely worth the money, and based on my experience I could not recommend it to other families

Our experience at the accommodation has been quite disappointing and, honestly, we do not consider the establishment to be up to the four-star standard it advertises. First of all, a €300 deposit is requested, in addition to charging for cleaning as a supplement, something that should be explained with total clarity before arrival. During our stay, we had several problems in the apartment. The internet connection was not working correctly and we also detected electrical problems, as the lights were flickering continuously. The breakfast seemed to have little variety to us, especially regarding the fruit and fresh options, something we expected to find with higher quality and variety in an accommodation of this category. We also had an unsatisfactory experience on the day of check-out. They made it difficult for us to continue enjoying the facilities that same day and to leave our luggage. Furthermore, we felt quite a bit of pressure and rushing to vacate the parking space. Accessing and exiting the parking lot also caused us several problems during our stay. Another important aspect is the location within the complex itself. The apartment was a considerable distance from the main facilities, something we were not previously informed of and which we believe should be clearly indicated in the accommodation description. On the other hand, we were surprised to witness an argument at reception between the owner and some guests. The owner's tone and attitude seemed unprofessional and unsuitable for dealing with guests. Furthermore, we were not informed upon our arrival that hotel guests could enjoy free parking in the blue zone. We only found out about this possibility at the time of check-out, when the information was no longer useful to us. In general, we believe there are several important aspects that should be improved, both in the facilities and services as well as in customer service and prior communication with guests. Based on our experience, we do not consider that the accommodation currently offers a service consistent with a four-star rating.
