B&B Alla Vucciria

We stayed here for a few days , despite the area which can be scruffy the hostel was a decent stay . It is right next to the fish market , 20 mins walk from the train station and short walk to many attractions . The room we were in was spacious with a great AC and balcony view . However , the area is busy with people on a night who like to party which does go on until 3/4am , this could be heard in our room . The bathroom was which has a bath and hand shower but no shower cubicle . We didn’t cook in but there is a kitchen and storage for food . There is no wifi and no breakfast served so something that needs updating on the site . Claudio was a wonderful host , really insightful , helpful and always at hand to guide. A really kind gentleman .

Firstly my booking criteria was to find a place local to the many sights of Palermo, not too expensive and has good reviews which this b&b checks all these boxes ! I arranged a collection from the Palermo airport and to my surprise the owner "Claudio" introduced himself . Claudio was very friendly telling me about Palermo and by the end of the 30 minute ride we were not strangers anymore ! Breakfast was on a large family table and consisted of orange juice, fresh mocha pot coffee ( lovely) local ancient recipe bread, fruits and homemade cornetto's ( Italian croissant's) which was all very nice. If you were expecting bacon and eggs or a full english breakfast then you will be disappointed ! The room is not cleaned every day (who changes sheets every day anyway ? ) so there is less risk to belongings going missing. The owner is a kind and friendly man who is very passionate about what he does and truly cares about his customers. Claudio has a large collection of book in both Italian and english so you will never get bored if you are a reader. My stay at this b&b was a good experiance and would recommend for anyone interested in an authentic Sicilian family style home . The b&b is situated in the hustling bustling Vucciria district which many would say was run down and dirty but i found it incredibly interesting with a great picture around every corner. Would i return to the B&B alla Vucciria ? The answer is yes , but in one of the bigger rooms. Ciao

Perfect location and a lovely host, very recommended. A simple and elegant room, with good ensuite bathroom. Host was very attentive and helpful. Location was perfect for the bars and market areas. Many thanks.
