B&B Lanza

My colleagues and I just returned from Catania. Lanza B&B was the worst of our experience. We had booked 3 rooms. Here is a summary of our experience. 1. There is no information on their website that informs visitors that there is no elevator in this building. Carrying heavy luggage and equipment up a flight of 4 floors was very difficult on us. 2. Room 1 where I stayed had unsanitary pillows and sheets and filthy floors. The external bathroom had mold all over the floors. When I first informed Cristina of this, I was told that the room had been cleaned. It was not until I physically showed her the filth that she took action to clean the room. She only cleaned the room floor and did not change pillows or sheets. There was also no WIFI information in this room. 3. Room 2 had no toilet seat and no lock on the bathroom door 4. Room 3 had no WIFI. This caused significant delay to our work and deliverables. 5. There is poor lighting in all of the rooms, making it unconducive for work We informed Lanza management of these deficiencies on our first day of stay. They committed to resolve these matters by the second day. When we returned from our meetings ,we found none of the issues had been resolved. Seeing their lack of responsibility and fair treatment, we decided to leave. I am currently working through a complaint process and am deeply disappointed at the the lack of responsibility and accountability by Lanza management. Visitors to this fine city deserve much better treatment!

Overall we were pleased with the B&B as it was in a very central location and it was easy to get everywhere - it made a good base for seeing the city and for day trips. The proprietor was friendly. Breakfast wasn't amazing, just a little pastry. It was advertised as a private bathroom but was actually shared, and a bit dingy. This was a bit irritating as I had booked this place specifically because it said private bathroom, but actually having to share the bathroom was fine. The room itself was huge and very comfortable once we had finally figured out how to work the air con! It had a fridge which was really helpful.

B&B is close to the city centre and clean. There is a little lounge. The landlady was friendly I had booked a room with balcony and air-conditioner. Both didn't exist. It was too hot (or loud, if you opened the window) to stay. I was promsed a better room so I waited but when I realized that I waited in vain I left the B&B. It became unbearable.
