Hotel Oriente

Management completely lacking in professionalism and respect for the potential customer. Following the normal use of the free cancellation provided by the platform, even if it happened several times, I was contacted privately by the management with peremptory, aggressive, and unacceptable tones. Offering cancellation and then contesting its use demonstrates conduct that is incorrect and completely inadequate for the hospitality sector. As I explained to the owner, I do a job that unfortunately does not give me the possibility to plan vacations with absolute certainty. In many years of traveling and using booking platforms, I have never encountered such behavior, to the point that I believed the message sent to me was fake. Property absolutely not recommended. Fortunately, Lipari offers an embarrassment of riches for staying in welcoming and friendly environments.

Now expressing an opinion about the hotel and especially the staff becomes easy; having traveled a lot, I do not hesitate to define the hotel and staff as excellent, therefore top marks plus a commendation that I have never given. Everyone is kind and welcoming, including the cleaning ladies. I cannot fail to mention Ms. Silvia at the reception and Carmelo at the bar and for breakfast; I am a vegetarian and I did not have any problems. I will not mention other people because I do not know their names, but let it be clear that everyone is top-notch. An incredible collection of historical objects from the Sicilian peasant tradition and past use that we find throughout the hotel, and then a beautiful internal garden with citrus fruits, flowers, and the presence of a very sweet cat that we named Mimina, who always purred for us while receiving cuddles. I repeat, in many years in Italy and abroad, I have never felt so comfortable, so 5 dots are even too few. We hope to be able to return in the future, perhaps from Naples by ship, avoiding the trap of Fontanarossa in Catania, which instead reserved the worst of the worst for us, zero assistance; here we must thank Arturo from Isola Azzurra in Lipari and our agency in Turin, Cercavacanze, with Ezio, who got us out of the Fontanarossa trap, but that is another story, maybe I will write something about it. Hotel Oriente is located near the center of Lipari and is in an excellent position relative to the port of Marina Corta, from which most excursions to the other islands of the archipelago depart. We stayed in a room accessible from a lush garden. The room had every comfort, starting with the perfectly functioning air conditioning. The property is a museum that collects many objects typical of the Sicilian tradition. The staff proved to be very helpful and attentive. Breakfast is excellent with homemade products and hot drink service prepared directly by the lounge bar. It is a hotel that we highly recommend if you want to visit this beautiful archipelago.
