Quintocanto Hotel and SPA

The hotel is ideally located in Palermo. The breakfast is good but has little choice. The only real negative point is the presence of a pool that is not accessible: you have to book spa access for €45 to enjoy it, which is a bit much.

We were in Palermo as a couple, a beautiful city. To save a little money, we chose a small room, also because we would only need it for sleeping. At the time of the online booking, breakfast was included, but once the payment was made, it was not present among the services. We communicated this once we arrived at the hotel, but they pretended nothing happened and requested 12 E per person. Later in the room, we found ants on the bathroom sink and subsequently also in the bedroom. We brought it to the attention of the cleaning staff and, without saying which room it was, they told us the number themselves and that they were aware of it and had reported it. We went out and upon returning we smelled insecticide, but they did not let us change rooms. When we checked out of the hotel, we mentioned it again, but they still made us pay for the remaining stay and didn't even apologize or offer us breakfast. It is located in the center and is well-connected, but the staff and service are very poor, especially for a 4-star hotel.

A very nice hotel located in the centre of Palermo. The entrance is unassuming but the welcome is generous and although it took a little longer than expected to go through the check-in process it was all done efficiently and courteously. The route to our room was interesting. Along a corridor, past the dining room and then through to an inner courtyard complete with tables and a tall palm tree. On the other side of the courtyard as well as an exit to the main street was our lift which took us oh so slowly up to our floor where our room was located in a securely sealed and air conditioned new looking corridor. The room itself was a good size and although there was no outside view to speak of the facilities were all modern. The shower was exceptional, but the huge advantage of this section of the hotel was the wonderful A/C and the relief it brought from the soaring outside temperatures. Breakfast was OK, but they don't know how to serve tea. Not a problem, but there were several long waits for some buffet dishes to be replenished. We had the time, so we weren't bothered, but if we'd had a train or plane to catch it might have become frustrating. The street outside is very busy with pedestrians and one direction only for traffic, so taxis to/from the hotel will often drop you a little distance away to save the additional fare cost. Our only complaint was that on one afternoon when we vacated our room in order to allow it to be cleaned the bar refused to serve us a beer! Never been refused service as a resident in a hotel bar before, but each to their own I guess. The gentleman said we could have something else, but not beer! What was that all about??? Recommended. Good hotel overall. A beer would have made it even nicer!
