We loved every minute of our stay at Atlantis Bay Taormina. From the moment we arrived, the service was above and beyond — genuinely attentive without ever being intrusive. The views from the property are spectacular, but the true highlight for us was Mermaid's Cove — the private beach and swimming area tucked right into the hotel's cliffside setting is unlike anything else in Taormina. Swimming there each day was pure magic. Our room was beautifully appointed, and the balcony/terrace was made for lounging with a bottle of local Etna wine in hand — the hotel was more than happy to bring glasses, a chiller bucket, and even open the bottle for us while we were out (via a What's app request) so it was ready on our return. We did hit one snag: our first room, 606, sits on the lobby floor right between the elevators and the lobby itself, and we were woken at 5am on our first morning by a steady stream of foot traffic and suitcases rolling across the tile floor in the hallway. It's a shame, because the room itself is lovely with a massive terrace — but unless the hotel finds a way to soundproof that hallway door, I'd steer clear of rooms 602–606, which all share that same noisy stretch. To their credit, the hotel moved us right away to another beautiful room on another floor, and from that point on everything was perfect. When we return to Taormina, Atlantis Bay is the only place we'd consider staying — it wouldn't even be worth looking at another property.
