Corallo Hotel Taormina

Very disappointing, bad negative experience, a fraud/theft of €200. The place presents itself as "close to the center" - but it is far, a kilometer of a difficult uphill climb, even a trek from the center of Taormina and the old city. The air conditioners didn't work on the 3rd floor. After canceling the 2nd night, they promised to provide a refund and stole €200 from us after the receptionist signed that she would refund it.

Stayed for a week in June 2026. What a lovely hotel ! Exceptionally clean, spotless in fact. Room cleaned, sheets, towels changed every day. Saw some negative reviews before we booked about the size of the shower cubicles being too tiny. I'm 6 ft 2 and quite broad and could shower no problem. Breakfast every day with cold meats and cheese, bacon, chopped up frankfurter style sausage, scrambled and hard boiled eggs. Lovely fresh rolls and bread, cereals, fruit and a choice of cakes and croissant, coffee, tea and juice. Plenty of everything and staff on hand to replenish. Extremely helpful staff and always friendly ! The hotel is about a half hour walk along steep, winding roads, no pavement so may not be suitable for some. There is a path which takes about 20 mins but be aware it is very, very steep and loose underfoot and could prove really challenging for some and quite impossible for young kids and elderly. That aside there are buses every 15 mins at 2 euros a ticket, so never a problem getting to the centre of Taormina. The hotel is a 10 min walk to the train station and a 40 min train ride to Catania which is well worth a visit. Swimming pool is opens at 9 AM and there is none of the nonsense of people 'reserving' sunbeds with towels, which was brilliant. There is a beach and a restaurant/ cafe across the road . A very, enjoyable weeks holiday, thank you all at Hotel Corallo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
