Mon Repos looked so good on pictures and had great reviews, so we were hooked and looking forward to get there. We arrived late on Tuesday, so had to pay extra 30€ for thd late check in. Also we gave in 200€ for a damage deposit which was returned on the check out. First view and impression on apartment was really nice. This is a really spacious place (we were three girls who stayed), enough space for all the stuff to fit in, big double bed and sleeping sofa in the living room. Outside on the territory you have a huge car parking, beautiful green garden and swimming pool, not very big but it’s enough to have a swim and chill down after sunbathing. But... when you take a closer look you see straight away that apartment is renovated with cheap materials, bathroom is terrible :( smelly, dirty... On our last day air conditioning broke down, it was first all icy and the water just started dripping down on the wall and floor... and guess what? No help... at all! How is it possible? I only talked to staff via WhatsApp and she said she was sorry, that’s it. We had to spend a terrible night with no air and woke up with heavy headache. This was so unprofessional to leave us in situation like that... she could have offered us at least a fan, moved us to another room... anything could work! But she didn’t even offer :( For 350€ per night choose another option in Taormina, there is a lot of better places to stay. Highly not recommended, I will add all the pics so you can see and decide for yourself.

The location is great. If you have a car there is a huge parking lot and it is free. The pool has an amazing view. Breakfast was typical. Vincenzo was great with coffee and coordination of excursions. Beds were comfortable. HOWEVER, the place needs a little TLC especially at this price point. Our room (R2) was a 2 bedroom apartment with one bath. The outside patio was not well maintained. The bathroom had a huge stain on the wall and needed to be painted over badly. The toilet seat would not stay up so using it was tricky.

Beautiful old house renovated to a boutique cosy hotel, with clean rooms without noise and a nice garden with a pool and free parking space. The staff (especially Eleonora) is polite and willing to help you, but not all of them can speak English! The breakfast is good with many sweet options and a small menu to choose between your cafe and eggs. The room is big enough but it could be better for such an expensive hotel. A tv placed on a small plastic table with all the cables around, the blackout curtains that didn't make the room dark enough to sleep, the bed without a duvet means that they must wash the blanket after every check out ( I hope so) the IKEA blanket is not suitable for summer just for winter, the bathroom without window for fresh air and not enough light, and most of all the Mosquitos ( even though they were trying their best with repellers, still we were having serious trouble to sleep). The Hermes amenities are added value. The staff could propose 4-5 restaurants but no more, it seems that some of them did not know anything about Giardini or other nearby places, and was hard to communicate by the their lack of English speaking. I think this is the hotel's very first year in this business and I am sure they can and they will do better.
