Upon arrival, they wanted me to pay an extra 90 euros for transport, using the pool and local tax. As far as I know, no other hotel in the are charges for a local tax. I had rented a car and did not need to use their transport. Why should I pay for using the pool on top of my reservation? It was obviously an arbitrary shake down. I was only able to reduce the extra fee since I had no other alternative to stay at a different hotel and couldn´t afford the cancellation fee. There is music blasting from speakers constantly. During the day thumping music and animation staff torment the guests by the pool and at night by the rooftop bar (until 1am). I repeatedly (on 4 separate nights) asked them to turn the music down. They always said the same thing "At 1230 (as in half past midnight) the divertimento ends. We will turn off the music then." They were always unwilling to consider turning down the volume, much less turn it off. Even though only a handful of the guests were actively enjoying the music, while the large majority tried to sleep. The music was not only too loud, but also repetitive and interspersed with the yelling and "singing" of the animatori over the microphone (the animatori were a crass bunch of teenagers with no apparent professional training in customer service or performance). This is specially frustrating considering the semi-secluded location of the hotel and the wasted potential of being surrounded by nicer and calmer sounds from the natural surroundings. The food is subpar at best. We only paid for breakfast (thankfully) which consisted of greasy pastries, coffee from a self-service machine, watery/sugary juice (no naturally squeezed), syrupy fruits that came out of a can, cooked ham and cheese slices. The staff did not seem to care that flies hovered constantly over the food. Almost every day I witness complaints by the guests who paid for lunch and dinner (it seemed that they always ate the same menu of pasta and tomato sauce). To top it off, busloads of close to 100 additional dinner guests would come by every day and eat by the pool which caused a bit of a chaos to us paying guests who wanted to take a dip. The A/C is a centrally controlled unit which is barely able to cool the whole building. The water in the rooms smells of sulphur and the shower temperature is pretty unstable (it switches from hot to cold by itself). The TV is 14 inches, nothing but italian channels, can´t be seen from the bed. The WIFI is only reachable in the common areas of the building, it does not reach the rooms. Avoid this hotel.

Situated at the foot of hills the hotel is well situated. Hotel is very welcoming and staff so friendly. The reception is always ready to help and give advice on places and attractions to visit. Rooms are spacious and breakfast sufficient. A good base to explore the west.
