Hotel Valmarina

Hotel in a strategic location at the highway exit. Modern, clean room, with a well-functioning minibar, comfortable beds. Bathroom a bit small but complete with everything and functional. Excellent breakfast. Very courteous staff. Large parking lot nearby, in front of the property, free of charge. Definitely recommended and worth returning to!

I am sorry to give such a low rating, but if there hadn't been some positive aspects, it would have been even lower: My experience is based on a double room for single use, but my friends (one double and one single that cost the same as the double) did not fare much better. Positive aspects: - nice place (except for the exterior facade) and the rooms, especially considering it is a 3-star facility - friendly and helpful staff Negative aspects: - Price: we are in Calenzano, among the factories, charging 100 euros for all rooms (including singles) seems excessive for a 3-star hotel in this location. - The bathroom is a TRAP. First of all, if you sit on the toilet, you have to sit sideways because there is a sink in front of you and no space. But the worst thing is the shower. It is not enclosed, so it floods the bathroom. There is a step between the room and the bathroom, and I had to put two towels on the floor to avoid flooding the room as well as the bathroom. There is an additional very slippery step between the bathroom and the shower when it gets flooded by the open shower, making it very dangerous to exit the shower. There is no solution for the toilet (the bathroom is tiny and there is no space to move the sink), BUT at least close the shower so that the bathroom does not flood, and maybe add a non-slip mat on that very dangerous step. And maybe avoid charging excessively high prices. I understand that there was a Linkin Park concert, but you are still a 3-star hotel outside Florence in an industrial area. At least for the single room, the price could be lowered and not charged the same as the double room. With these adjustments, I would have been happy to give 3 stars (not 4 because the toilet is really very uncomfortable to use).
