Hotel Villa Tavolese

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during a wedding nearby. The hotel is located on a hill that gives you a beautiful view over tuscany. When we arrived, the hoteldoor was closed and we had to search for 15 minutes to find someone who could check us in. I think the hotel was very popular in the past, but nowadays it felt like a haunted house. There was no music in the lobby and there were no other guests around. The rooms were spacious and clean. Unfortunately a bit cold at night. The breakfast was basic, but sufficient. Again, at the time we wanted to checkout, we had to search for the lady of the hotel. With a bit more effort they can easily get 4 stars.

The villa is set on what can only be described as the most stunning location. Set on an outcrop the views are second to none! We sat on the terrace watching the sunset and the hotel manager couldn't have made us feel more welcome! Highly recommend a visit even for a fleeting drop in drink!

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding nearby in Sep 2014. The hotel offers all of the basic accommodations one could want although its furnishings and decor could be updated and modernized. It reminded me a bit of an old Howard Johnson's. The room was very clean though. The views are nice, it was quiet, and the breakfast buffet was perfectly fine (croissants, coffee, hardboiled eggs and cheese). There's not much to say about it other than it was "just fine" for a night. It wasn't particularly memorable, but it wasn't bad either. The Korean woman who manages the property could work a little on her people skills. She is not interested AT ALL in interacting with the guests. She's very efficient and all business, but we we were barely at the hotel so it didn't really bother us.
