Beautiful view, excellent breakfast, and pleasant silence. Here end the positive aspects, due in large part to the location rather than the management.
The stay begins with an hour-long wait outside the entrance gate, under the sun, in the middle of the nothingness of the countryside, without even being able to use a bathroom after a trip of over 3 hours, and not knowing where to leave the car. The place is inaccessible except with high-clearance vehicles (about 2 km of dirt road uphill full of curves), so clearly we could not turn back.
We arrived an hour early (at 3:00 PM) after notification via email, in response to their request to specify if the arrival time would be outside the scheduled window for check-in (from 4:00 PM). I premise that, the following day, we were able to joyfully note that other clients were welcomed right at the time when we were outside the gate waiting.
Perhaps they had also notified them and had the luck of receiving a response?
The same night there was a flood, and due to an error of ours in closing the French door correctly, some water entered the room. After a night spent trying to soak up the floor and organize the wet clothes, still unaware that the error was ours (we thought the door closed poorly), we would have liked to have breakfast in peace to then subsequently communicate the problem. The water in the room had been there since 4 in the morning; it could have waited another 20 minutes. We are interrupted by the owner, who, with an inquisitive and aggressive manner, in front of the other guests, asks us if water had entered our room at night. She scolds us, saying that we should have communicated it, without ever apologizing for the inconvenience (she herself did not yet know if it actually depended on the door or on an error of ours).
The room is tidied up by the staff, and after a check, they show us the error in closing the door. The staff, very kind, apologizes for the inconvenience, even knowing that the fault was ours. The owner at no point in this affair hints at showing regret.
The following afternoon, upon our return, we find the room smelling of sewage. At this point, we promptly call the manager to notify her, and a staff member (also very kind) comes to solve the problem using products to cover the odor. She also apologizes for the inconvenience (the owner, on the other hand, remains silent, as usual).
The same evening (at about 9:00 PM) the bad odor returns; we call the manager again, who answers us already making excuses, “we are doing as much as possible given the time.”
So, in the event that the odor had not gone away, were we supposed to sleep in the stench after having already paid for the stay? Our problem?
She delegated the matter to an operator again. She never bothered to find out if the problem had been resolved, or to ask us the next day how we had slept.
This morning she asked the other owner to handle the check-out, and didn't even deign to say goodbye.
Lots of fake smiles, terrible customer service. You can also see from the responses left to other users here on TripAdvisor who expressed discomfort during their stay. If the stay is pleasant, the review is welcome; if instead there are critical issues, the responsibility is always the customer's who had a bad experience, "because the others had a good experience."
I suggest changing professions.
