Vecchio Fienile Casa Vacanze

A beautiful house in a beautiful and magnificent landscape. The location is central between Siena and San Gimignano. The furnishings are typically Tuscan. The pool is large and is serviced daily. Great hospitality. Ideal for families.

This was our second time to stay at Vecchio Fienile, the first was in 2005, and it was a treasure to see how Maurizio’s landscaping has grown and filed in. The well-designed kitchen now has a large refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and microwave, along with good quality pots/skillets/dinnerware, plus all the necessary kitchen tools. It is a joy to cook in Italy with its fresh produce and meats and enjoyed shopping in Florence’s central market for everything we needed. We stayed two weeks and got to see the harvest of the olives from the trees all over the well-manicured property, which looked like more work than my old bones would want to do. In the past twelve years Maurizio’s English has improved (my Italian—not at all), and now his grownup daughter is helping, when needed in translating. She has an excellent understanding of English and responding to our concerns. We had the pleasure of experiencing the heartfelt desire of Maurizio, along with his wife and daughter, to make our vacation stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They’re perfect hosts, handling everything with kindness and grace. Maurizio came to our apartment the night before we left in a driving rain with a bottle of his just pressed olive oil (a real treasure). He informed us he would be there to help us with our heavy luggage the next morning. If we do make another trip back to Italy we will surly spend a week or two at Vecchio Fienile.

Our home away from home! From the moment the gates open we know we are on holiday. From the views of San Gimignano across the valley to the smell of the banks of rosemary as we relax by the pool, absolute heaven. Maurizio and Beatrice are the perfect hosts
