Davanzati

Hotel Davanzati is a true hidden gem in Florence. As travelers who specifically seek out intimate, boutique properties with under 25 rooms, we look for places where exceptional hospitality takes center stage. Hotel Davanzati fit this vision perfectly from the moment we arrived. Tucked away on a quiet street yet only a short, convenient walk from Florence’s iconic attractions, it offers the ideal balance of peaceful retreat and prime access to the heart of the city. What truly sets this hotel apart is its extraordinary staff. Leonardo and Angelo were absolute lifesavers when it came to navigating dinner plans for our group as our numbers grew from 8 to 10 and ultimately to 12. Every evening, they guided us to authentic, family-owned local spots within easy walking distance—completely free of tourist crowds—giving us some of the best dining experiences of our trip. Beyond restaurant recommendations, their hands-on advice made exploring seamless, even helping us navigate the local bus setup for a trip up to Fiesole. Every detail of the stay added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The daily breakfast offered a classic European spread of quality meats, cheeses, and fresh items that provided a great start to each morning. A highlight of each day was the evening happy hour, where guests gather to enjoy complimentary Italian wine—the perfect transition after a long day of sightseeing before heading out for dinner. Hotel Davanzati was a phenomenal find, and it will unhesitatingly be our first choice whenever we return to Florence.

Cleanliness, friendliness, and excellent location! Aperitif and snack offered! Absolutely to return to.

We spent 2 days in Florence as a family and what luck to stay in this hotel! It is extremely well located, right in the center, a few minutes' walk from the Ponte Vecchio or the Duomo. The room was super comfortable, Leonardo at the front desk was incredibly kind, and the icing on the cake, the hotel offers a coffee break all afternoon and an aperitif at the end of the day. The value for money is great! In short, I recommend this establishment 1000% for your Florentine getaway.
