Hotel Gavinana

The house is great, there is a provate parking, but sleeping quality was not good, since windows didn't close properly and it was big sound from the street... On the other hand, staff was really friendly and supportive :)

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It is nice little hotel. Lady in reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and confortable. We had a nice balcony also. We took the room with private bathroom. Everything was very clean, and it is cleaned every day.There is no mosquito problems since we got mosquito tablets in our room :) We tougth there will be very hot since the room don't have air conditioning but don't worry, the cooling fan is more than enought. Temeperature outside was 30 degrees but in the room was comfortable with cooling fan. The city center is only a short bus ride away (10 minutes and ticket costs 1,20€) or cca 20 min walking. I would recomend this hotel - very good value for money.

It's located in a quiet, residential area of Florence. The place is clean, but very basic. The furniture is cheap, as are the linens. There is no air conditioning, and the mattress was very hard. It was very difficult to sleep there. The couple that runs the hotel is very kind and helpful. The city center is only a short bus ride away. This place is ok if you are not going to stay there for any great length of time and are planning on spending most of your time in the city center. I did think it was a bit expensive being that it was so far from the city center and so little is provided in the way of amenities (like no soap and towels in the shared hallway bathroom).
