Hotel Giappone

Clean hotel and very kind and helpful staff for every need. Air conditioning, minibar and kettle in the room. Super comfortable bed and quiet environment. Hotel on the third floor. Unbeatable prices. A few minutes from everything. I recommend it.

We have arrived back from traveling through Europe. It was a wonderful trip - made up of self-travel and hotel bookings and a 10 day cruise on NCL. The biggest glitch was HOTEL GIAPPONE in Florence. Their listing should have (NO ELEVATOR) next to their name!! I have noticed other hotels do this. We arrived late in the afternoon, only to find long, winding stairs. I am blind in one eye and impaired in the other and my partner has a pacemaker. And we were carrying two backpacks and two suitcases. My husband would have needed a defibrillator if he had gone up more than 5 steps!! It really is a “bait & switch” listing. Yes, the location is great and I’m sure the rooms are lovely but there is NO way I would have booked this hotel if I had simply read the words Hotel Giappone ( NO ELEVATOR) in the listing. The hotel would thus quickly weed out the handicapped /incapcitated that can not handle the 3 flights of steep stairs. Thank you for reading!

Convenient location, a few meters from the station and a stone's throw from the Duomo, a little uncomfortable staircase. The single I stayed in was very clean and small, the bathroom even tiny although comfortable, thanks to the window that makes the room bright in the morning, the light colors and 'furniture, despite the size the room is very comfortable.
