Hotel Piccadilly

Simply do not stay here, you will regret it. This hotel is run by the worst manager I have ever met. He is rude, patronising and unapologetic. We had to sleep with no aircon with a noisy buzzer going off every minute, window open to get some air but constant noise of traffic, people, and bin men. When we asked for aircon, the manager told us we'd have to pay an extra fee. However, we found out you can press the reset button for free aircon. The manager also refused to print tickets for our museum trips stating it was too many pieces of paper, he would not tell us where a near internet cafe was located and we had to find by ourselves. We found out the ticket was one piece of paper. The room is dirty, in desperate need of a refurb. When we arrived we got a choice of three rooms - all of which were dreadful. There is no facilities to make a tea, coffee or even fridge to cool the water. The cleaners took our personal belongings out of the room and did not return. Once again the management were unapologetic. We didn't realise the thin cloth was a towel, they are the equivalent of a pillow case and smell of vinegar. My girlfriend couldn't sleep for the noise and heat and was crying. The management did nothing to assist. When asked about the possibility of a cancellation or refund, his response was "maybe you know about a lot of things, but this is my business and it is impossible" On our departure the manager didn't even thank us for our stay or say goodbye. We stayed at the hotel 5 nights and from what we could tell the hotel was definitely not full or busy, however I'm not surprised from his awful personal skills. Take my advice, spend an extra few euros to stay in comfort.

We both husband and wife stayed in hotel Piccadilly for four nights in May 2016. It is located next to the Independence Square of Florence, just ten minutes walk from Firenze SMN Train Station. The rooms and the reception are on the first floor, accessible by a small lift. Mr. Roberto gave us a warm welcome, free maps, a spacious and quiet room with first class wifi available on a password. The room was without a safety deposit box but with all other amenities like running hot water, TV, air conditioner, good furniture and daily changing linen or towels. Although the hotel is in a very old building yet very clean and secure. So many restaurants in the vicinity, the Duomo and famous Lorenzo Market are just 5 minutes walk away. The bus stop is very close where Line-B Hop On Hop Off bus also stops. Mr. Roberto was always present in the dining room where buffet style breakfast was served, quite filling and in ample quantity to sustain for a day. We, however, felt the necessaity of some fruits, if added to the breakfast. In nut shell a good value and centrally located hotel recommended for any duration of time because our stay in Hotel Piccadilly was really enjoyable.

The hotel is not luxurious but is very clean. Our room was cleaned every day. The location is perfect, close to many places of interest. It is a walking distance from the train station. The price is reasonable.the personnel is very friendly.
