Hotel Souvenir

We stayed here for 4 nights while in Monterosso on a family holiday and would not recommend or come back to the hotel. We stayed as a family of 3, 2 adults and a baby / toddler. A cot was offered, however we decided not to take the offer and were glad we didn't because the size of the room was so small one person had to be on the bed for another to move around the room. The shower was unreliable, 2 out of 4 nights it was unable to get warm let alone hot. The walls are paper thin, which with a young one is not nice having neighbours every word able to be heard, waking them in the middle of the night. There was no kettle for tea or coffee, no fridge or other amenities that would have been useful. The breakfast looks incredible but you soon find out that only 1 or 2 of the bakery items are fresh, the remainder are leftovers not consumed the day prior making for stale croissants, cakes, focaccia and bread. The meats and cheese were the same. The cooked eggs option wasn't great either 4 choices to choose from 3 of which we tried, all were dry and over cooked. The only things the place had going for it was attentive, beach towels on request and thorough cleaners who were absolutely lovely to interact with and an aircon that worked. Other than that it was not great and wouldn't recommend staying here over other options available.

This was by far my worst experience in a hotel that I checked out the very next day (couldn't do it the second I entered because I was unwell and extremely tired). 1. Shower doesn't work properly. Which was okay as the shower drain was dirty and had hair. The owner even admitted the fact that the didn't clean the shower after the previous customers checked out. 2. There is a lift, but you cannot use it. So I had to climb all the way to the fourth floor with my luggages. 3. The main door should be around 45cm and you need one hand to hold it open which made it extremely difficult for me to enter with my back pack and trolley. 4. Felt extremely unsafe as the owner is never in the hotel and people just wander around in the corridor. The feeling that anything could happen to me was haunting me. 5. The sink had a used towel shoved in it. I complained and nothing was done about it. I took it off myself. 6. The whole place had negative energy which made me so uncomfortable and I cannot say this enough-PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. 7. Oh and also, the floor drain in the shower was not working and it takes forever for the water in the shower to drain. 8. The other people who stays in that building are also creepy as an old lady who was staying in the third floor was said something rudely to me. Since I don't speak italian, I had no idea what she said but the attitude said it all. 9. The owner came the next morning just for the money and the creepist part was his photo is stuck behind the reception bar and he talks on the speaker which was scary enough. 10. Should I say anymore? Please don't make my mistake. Stay somewhere else.

I’ve been to souvenir Hotel with my sister and a friend during 5 nights. Upon arrival receptionist showed us 2 rooms so we can choose. 1 st room :with a shower inside which does not work. 2nd room : bigger. no toilets no shower inside but in the commun corridor. We chose that one. First : floor is dirty. Beds are uncomfortable (even by saying that I am too nice) bathroom is not clean. Bedroom is dirty and not made everyday, receptionist is never there, NEVER! So if you need assistance or a taxi forget it unless you call an “emergency number”. If you need toilet paper, forget it, we were obliged to use our tissues. Laundry is not changed/washed. So during 5 days we used the same towels... in the common bathroom : hair dryer was so dirty that I didn’t even try to use it. Wifi : signal is so slow inside the room. I was obliged to go in the corridor with my phone and when I tried to connect my laptop to work : no WiFi signal. I was obliged to go to restaurants to have better WiFi signal. And finally , upon check out : NOBODY was there. We put the key at the reception but wesaw nobody. Positive point ? We had a small bottle of Prosecco pp for NY. If you want a clean and tidy bedroom, a comfortable bed, and good services, don’t go there !
