I Parigi Corbinelli

I Parigi Corbinelli enjoys a beautiful and peaceful location and certainly has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, our experience did not quite match the many positive reviews we had read beforehand. The welcome did not feel welcoming to us. The check-in itself went smoothly and we got a short tour of the domain. Our room on the first floor was spacious, with a comfortable bed and well working air conditioning. Our dog was also welcome, which we really appreciated. In terms of cleanliness, we were less satisfied. Among other things, dust webs were visible in the room and there was mold in the shower. We also felt that the terrace and some common areas could be better maintained. In the living room that we had to pass through each time to reach our room, there was also a fairly strong musty smell. The breakfast was fine and was served in a very nice garden. It is a pity that this garden is not accessible to guests outside breakfast hours, especially since there are few other pleasant places to sit quietly during warm moments. The pool is a bit further from the main house, but once there the view is magnificent. The pool itself was spacious and cared for and thanks to the shade cloths it was pleasant. However, we found the seating around the pool less successful. There were few real sunbeds and several chairs and cushions showed black mold deposits and could clearly use a thorough cleaning. Luckily there were a few new beach chairs. The accessibility requires some attention: the last part to the B&B is via a fairly steep and narrow road. There is, however, ample parking at the residence. During our stay we found the communication not always so friendly. For example, a question about the time when our room could be cleaned was answered quite briefly. That was a shame, especially because we were dependent on the room because of the heat and with a dog. When we finally had to leave two nights early due to my partner's illness, the host was fortunately flexible and did not charge for one night. We certainly appreciated that. The location, views, pool and character of the building are great assets. With some extra attention to maintenance, cleanliness and hospitality, this could be a particularly beautiful place. For us, the stay was unfortunately below expectations on those points.

An old Tuscan partially re-furbished authentic villa, on the top of a hill, with commanding views of the countryside. The owners, Marco & Guido are super nice hosts (and Roy the dog!), have been accommodating right from the beginning, giving us some amazing insider tips and advice on to how better eat and enjoy the area. It is a great choice to explore Florence and stay bank solvent as it is very close to it (car a must) and very charming. Once you reach your room through the labyrinth of hallways and staircases, rooms are spacious, clean, with nice bedding and all modern amenities. Room keeping is daily. The sumptuous, locally made with fresh products breakfast with its view over the small internal lawn & garden is amazing and very enjoyable, the grounds around the villa are idyllic and well kept, offering picture-perfect views of the surrounding Tuscan landscape & villas around it. What may be one of the few drawbacks is the size of the beds which are very narrow (maybe 60 cm wide the singles?) and very short (for taller people like me at 189) and the noise level between rooms, where you can actually hear pretty well your neighbors, bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper like me. Also the lack of an elevator for those that do not have knees or do not like stairs or have lots of heavy luggage is an issue. Finally reaching it may be a bit scary for some inexperienced drivers as you do have to drive through some very narrow roads and sharp blind turns to get to it. Overall though definitely a value-for-money, highly recommended, we shall be back for the breakfast and Biancheta Restaurant down the street alone! Thanks Guido for a great stay!

Location surrounded by greenery but still convenient to get quickly to the center by bus. Great rooms, great breakfast both savory and sweet.
