Set in a perfect location amidst the city, this hotel isn't bad, but does have drawbacks and does need updates and repairs. The lobby is tired and old, the rooms are very dated. The shower had terrible signs of old orange mould and the water flows out into the central bathroom itself, the air conditioner was very loud and kept us up--and then leaked all over the rug and was wet for two days. The view is of the bustling street below--not much of a perfect view, but a view nonetheless. We had many stairs to climb to our room--there was no working elevator--not a big problem, but it can be exhausting after already walking for hours during the day. I'd stayed here years before and it was cleaner back when--and the location is good and price wasn't too steep, so I returned. But I was sorry to see it had fallen badly. Yes--it is the hotel which recovered the stolen 'La Gioconda' (The Mona Lisa), but that's it's only real claim to fame. The place was rather darkish--not real bright or welcoming. For just a bed and non-special breakfast, no luxuries, no frills, no extra cleanliness, this place is fine, safe, central and good enough for those not wanting to spend too much money. For those who'd like more privacy, complementary items, more service, a %100 reliable Wifi, grand breakfast and such--you should find somewhere else. The place wasn't terrible--but it surely had its weaknesses and drawbacks.

We went here for a night. Came before check in time but the staff let us leave our bags. We had a good deal for the room from hotels.ca. We got a double bed with a single bed room. The room was clean and had it's own washroom. Floors are a bit creaky but clean. The main door to the room is hard to open/lock 🔐. I think it needed to be replaced.
The hotel is situated in a busy street so it was a bit noisy with all the cars and people passing by in the morning. Not too much at night so it was fine. The noise was our alarm clock which served good because you want to explore Florence more. Staff are helpful amd cordial.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, and the only thing it offers was its location just 2 min walk to the duomo and to the center. The hotel is very old and definitely require an elevator and the room and the toilet need renovation. I dont recommend it to anyone
