Hotel Villa Cheli

Amazing location. Such a pity that the service was not up to scratch. The rooms in the main villa itself looked fab, but we were stuck in what was probably a broom cupboard in the past in the annexe to the villa. Breakfast was very basic and nothing like we had elsewhere in Italy. Burnt bacon and grey scrambled egg that was actually inedible. Small selection of fruit, cheese and cold meats. Tasty pastries. Service round the pool was almost non existent. The owners are missing a goldmine there since they have a captive audience. . We just felt that they actually did not want us there. Such a pity since this villa has such potential.

A pleasant discovery! It was our first time staying at this establishment, and we were truly satisfied. The environment is very well-kept, and the welcome was warm and professional from the moment we arrived. During our stay, we had the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor pool, which is perfectly maintained and ideal for spending moments of relaxation. For dinner, we made a reservation at the establishment's restaurant, where the tables are set up outdoors in an elegant and picturesque setting, particularly enjoyable on summer evenings. A special thanks goes to Rawand, who, with his friendliness, availability, and professionalism, helped make our experience even more pleasant. He recommended an excellent Chianti from Tenuta Banfi and a delicious Fiorentina, cooked to perfection and of excellent quality. As an appetizer, we also enjoyed a delightful parmigiana, prepared with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. The buffet breakfast was also highly appreciated, rich and varied, with a wide selection of sweet and savory products, all of excellent quality. The selection of desserts was particularly assorted and inviting. Overall, an extremely positive experience in every aspect: quality of services, excellent cuisine, relaxing atmosphere, and attentive staff to the needs of the guests. I recommend this beautiful villa in tranquility a few steps from Lucca and the restaurant with exceptional dishes of both fish and meat.
