We had high hopes after reading the lovely reviews, and the place did not dissapoint! We stayed in the La Torre Suit and had a beautiful, clean, spaceous room with views over the rooftops and La Torre Guinigi. The rustic, traditional look and charm of the room further enhanced our romantic, Italian get-away. The check-in was very smooth, our host Lucida greeted us upon arrival and gave us some recommendations for restaurants. All in all, it was a 10/10 experience. I had seen people commenting on the stairs but if you are of average health (and aren’t carrying hundreds of bags), they should be no problem. Note that no breakfast is served, I had overlooked that when booking, but there are tons of cute cafés around.

Handily placed in the centre of Lucca. Charming place, there are two self-contained apartments but it feels very private. Lucida was a welcoming host and answered our queries. Very handy for everything in Lucca, aircon very welcome! View from the windows across the rooftops was a bonus.

What a gem. We believe there are only two rooms available to rent but it is really worth trying to get one of them. They are right at the top of the building so be prepared for the 79 steps to get there but trust us, you will be pleased you did. The views from the windows are truly wonderful. The mountains from one and the Torre Guinigi from the other. We were very pleasantly surprised to have a bedroom, a sitting / breakfast room and a separate shower room (despite this being over the corridor it was for our exclusive use). The staff we encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was served to our room. We did have a bit of trouble finding the place initially but that was our fault for not realising the Via Diversi was doglegged and #4 and the bell push were clearly marked, we phoned to tell them we couldn't find them and they came out to meet us (blame our senility!) A big thank you for providing a bonus to our very pleasant stay in Lucca.
