Il Chiostro Del Carmine

Great location, 10 minutes brisk walk to centre. Decent size rooms, comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and courteous. More fresh fruit could be provided at breakfast. Shower needed update, water temperature difficult to control, could be cool then scalding hot. No lifts so if your room is on the second floor, over fifty stone steps to climb.

This hotel in a former convent could be a marvel. Very well located, it is perfect for visiting Siena. Unfortunately, too many imperfections spoil everything. While the service is impeccable, the rooms are rustic, the bathrooms are old-fashioned with only one showerhead for washing, there is no elevator, and we slept at 84.2 degrees because the air conditioning does not work, and has not for a long time given the previous reviews (we were provided with a fan to help calm our anger). To top it all off, we were charged for 4 bottles of water that were in the fridge, not even one bottle of water to welcome guests. The breakfast is very good, however, there is not a single piece of fresh fruit, a shame. I strongly advise against this establishment, which does not deserve more than 2 stars, or perhaps in winter if the heating works!!!!!

Great ambiance in a former monastery, room was clean, not up to date. Showering was a nightmare. First evening no water, second evening alternating every 5 seconds between scalding hot and ice cold. You had to be very careful not to get burned. Washing hair was therefore impossible… Breakfast was simple and okay. The location was perfect, it was quiet, and there was a paid parking lot for 15 euros per night.
