To tell the truth in Montepulciano there are many taverns but we chose Osteria del Borgo and we did well; yes because the location is spectacular, very welcoming and overlooks a view that leaves you stunned: you can see the whole valley, immense hills that seem to never end.... and ok... the welcome as soon as you enter it seems more like a hotel than a tavern, waiters and managers available and always with a smile, which is all to say. The menu is not extensive but typical Tuscan and really tasty especially the Pici with white meat sauce; the wines not even to talk about.... we are in Montepulciano... home of WINE and food. The waiter who always served us courteous and kind. The right bill for what we ordered. I highly recommend the Osteria del Borgo especially for the welcome that is fundamental...

If you are visiting Montepulciano you’ll have a hard time beating the location along with the breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside. 4 days 3 nights in the upper apartment did not disappoint. I’ve read some reviews about the steep climb to the apartment… trust me if you can’t handle this you can’t handle Montepulciano! Family was quick to assist me up with my luggage (which was substantial). Fully appointed apartment had everything and more than I needed for my stay. Family is charming and extremely accommodating. I did make reservations for the Friday night of my stay and travelling solo I asked for, but did not expect to get, a coveted terrace table. Not know did I get the terrace but also, what I would consider the best seat in the house! Unobstructed views of the countryside and gorgeous sunset. Add fantastic food, amazing wine coupled with incredible service, and well, it’s one for the record books. Breakfast each day was scrumptious and I thoroughly enjoyed the families banter as they prepared for their day. Highly recommend.
