Lovely stay in a beautiful, quiet area
We had a fantastic stay at Borgo San Luigi. We stayed in cottage 114, on the large lawn. That was a lovely, quiet place where you can really relax.
The whole team is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything was neat and clean. The cottages are a bit noisy, but honestly we did not find that disturbing; it also fits a bit with the charm and atmosphere of such an accommodation.
The breakfast buffet is extensive and of good quality. Personally, I would have liked it if there had been a little more variety, so that the offer was not the same every day.
The pool is great. The large lawn around it is ideal: you can place your sunbed wherever you want and there are enough trees for a nice spot in the shade.
Furthermore, the facilities are excellent. You can rent bicycles, there are charging points for electric cars and the closed parking lot gives a safe feeling. You can have your car picked up if you wish, but walking to the parking lot yourself is also fine.
The only small minus we found the restaurant in the evening. You can dine a little more luxuriously, while we like to eat simple, authentic Italian dishes during our holiday. That would have made the experience even more complete for us.
The surroundings are beautiful and everywhere you are welcomed friendly. All in all, Borgo San Luigi is definitely recommended.

We absolutely adored our stay at Borgo San Luigi. You arrive by a treelined avenue, reception staff were friendly and welcoming, bags are taken to your room, the car is valet parked and you are shown around. We had breakfast and dinner there everynight and the food and service were fabulous. I can still remember the wonderful white chocolate mousse desert - superb. The pool is wonderful with lots of beds and plenty of room so guests all have their own space. The bar staff are attentive and professional. We stayed here at the end of a 3 week holiday touring around and found it wonderfully relaxing. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Very beautiful hotel in Tuscan style
Access is unfortunately only possible via gravel roads, which is easily noticeable on the vehicle. Out of the way, so you always need a car.
Rooms are beautiful with vaulted ceilings and brick floors. Unfortunately, the doors are very drafty and poorly darkened, so you are inevitably awakened at 5:00 by the birds, or shortly thereafter by the sprinkler.
Food and drinks are extremely expensive. At €13, it is the most expensive Aperol spritz we have had in all of Tuscany (more expensive than in Siena at the main square).
During our 3 nights, there was a wedding and another party. You inevitably crash into it when trying to go from the parking lot to the hotel. Usually with very loud music, which is turned down around 10 PM. Fortunately, we had our room facing the other direction.
We did not try the restaurant. Breakfast was good by Italian standards, with local cheese and sausage.
Long pool, good for swimming, and a shallow area for toddlers. Unfortunately, it is only open from 7 AM to 7 PM. That is a pity because one cannot cool off again after an excursion.
