Hotel Soggiorno Athena

We stayed one night at this hotel as a stopover during a long trip. Considering the price paid, I honestly expected something more. The room, however, was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom, very well-kept and well-cleaned. The girl at the reception was also very professional, helpful and kind. The real negative note, unfortunately, was the air conditioning. It practically couldn't cool the room: very little cool air was coming out and we suffered a lot from the heat during the night, to the point of sleeping really poorly and waking up all sweaty. After a trip of over 10 hours, we had chosen the hotel above all to be able to rest well and, from this point of view, we were very disappointed. For me it is an important aspect, especially in the middle of summer. The breakfast also seemed definitely too basic to me compared to the price of the property: empty croissants to be filled with Nutella or jams, cereals, yogurt and little else. Nothing particularly negative, but certainly something more and with greater variety could be offered. In conclusion, room and cleanliness passed, as well as the reception staff, but considering the price, the air conditioning problem and such an essential breakfast, personally I don't think I would return.

I gave it one star because it was the Mandatory field to fill out. It does not deserve even one star. The rooms are old, the ceiling is cracked and falling, old furniture. The most horrible thing is that the rooms are not soundproof. I feel like I am sleeping in the middle of the highway. I do not understand how they grant licenses to certain hotels. Shameful.

Lack of bidet and insufficient bed equipment, there is only a fleece blanket, no duvet and at night it is cold, in fact the heating is activated for a few hours and turned off at night; the bathroom has remained completely frozen. The tiny room. Structure without elevator. The parking lot, although booked was occupied during my absence; moreover, the spaces are so cramped that they are inaccessible for large cars. In the bill the parking not used for all nights obviously was inserted. Definitely poor breakfast. Difficulty communicating with part of the staff due to poor knowledge of the Italian language and disorganization of the staff (kind cleaning lady although she did not redo the room) cleanliness to improve. I was charged the tourist tax for a child THREE years old; despite my complaints, it was not possible to transfer the amount. ONLY Positive note: The location within walking distance of the Tower.
