LA CISTERNA

Third time we've returned to this hotel, a real gem, in the heart of San Gimignano. We booked the same room, with a small balcony overlooking the square, a delight. In fact we are returning, it is our favorite hotel and surely if we return it will only be to this hotel. Kindness of the staff, cleanliness, very comfortable bed. They also accept dogs, we travel with 2 Yorkies, . The breakfast was also very good and varied. Highly recommended

We came with friends to this enchanted place rich in history ... we then chose to have lunch in one of the main squares of the cistern. The restaurant that also gives its name to the hotel, cistern restaurant. We settled inside the restaurant. 4 covered a bottle of water one of Chianti Classico wine from 18 euros and cutting boards for 2 people each , 4 pasta dishes including a tomato reginetta with ricotta, without salt and little seasoned, 2 gnocchi with vegetables and salted ricotta also tasteless, a picio with duck sauce perhaps the only perhaps more pleasant. Dishes arrived warm at the table. Removed the covers with respective cutlery and napkins without being asked if we wanted another course and while the last diner was still finishing eating. At the time we.... requested attention we heard asking ourselves if we wanted saffron or sweets. Nice experience. Checkin was good, parking is well arranged. The location is very nice, we looked out over the main square. The rooms are neat and spacious. Breakfast was fine. Nearby you can find plenty of nice drinks and eateries. We had a great time here.
