Positives: the location of the property, on a beautiful hill, overlooking the Crete Senesi and also the structure of the castle itself, excellent breakfast.
Cons: it is absolutely not a 4 star, the rooms should be completely renovated. They are small, cramped, furnished with old and remedied furniture. What's the use of a huge mini-bar if it's empty and there's not even a kettle to make tea for? The property is virtually isolated from the world (and this could be a silver lining) and has neither a bar nor a daytime restaurant. There is only one lampshade for the double bed, two old air conditioners that malfunction, window that gives on a hedge. The bathroom is a disaster: old, small and without any comfort and with the shower full of mold. In the middle of winter there was no hot water or even heating. We protested at reception and were told there was a fault (but reading the reviews you can see that the thing is structural), no excuses, no refunds. In short, how to ruin a romantic weekend.... Not recommended!
