Locanda Di San Martino

This is WAY overpriced. The reception greeting was not warm. We later asked for help with transportation and were told to look on the internet. The bathhouse is an additional 25 euro per person (FYI). It was beautiful. Our room (also beautiful) was away from the main hotel and the only way to get to breakfast + bath is my small elevator. There is no safe in the room. It is a trek to get down there with luggage. They had tour groups staying while we were there and were not able to help get out luggage up and out of there.

This hotel refused to cancel my booking so I drove all the way to Siena; at which point they refused to let me in because they said the reception was closed (at 8.15pm) which is not something they had even previously specified. I expect they had simply decided the rent the room to someone else and keep my money. Then then ignored my messages, so I am now having to go book somewhere else with no prospect of a refund. The very worst face of Italian tourist industry: should not be allowed on international booking websites at all.

We found this place to be a little Gem in the heart of the city. Not really good if you are intending to park your rental car. But you can find car parks about that will collect it and return at your convenience, we paid 25 euros a night. The room was two bedrooms one with a bed and the other with a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable, there was a ceiling fan for comfort. The views from this apartment were spectacular right over the city and all its towers. Would reccomend for families and close friends to share.
